COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shipyard Applehead is a crisp, refreshing wheat ale with a delightful apple aroma and subtle cinnamon flavor. This beer is available in 6-packs, 12-packs and on draft. “We asked Pumpkinhead fans what other flavors would they like to see and their answer was apple,” said director of sales and marketing, Bruce Forsley. “We listened to what our fans asked for and created Shipyard Applehead. Master brewer Alan Pugsley has combined the subtle sweetness of cinnamon and apple with a clean, refreshing wheat ale to create a whole new beer experience.”

Nice smell if your into cinnamon and apples in your beer if your into that(I'm not). But overall not bad totally drinkable on a hot day. Sweet refreshing apple pie in a glass. If your into that kind of thing try it, if not don't waste your time. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Enjoyable during the holidays, in moderation. The flavor is too particular for me to enjoy as a staple drink, but enjoyable in a hard-cider kind of way. Aromatic. Crisp, light, super-fruity. The ladies seem to like it.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, best by August 2013, poured into a white wine glass. Pour clear golden with small white head which dissapates quickly down to a ring around the top end to surface of beer-air interface. Little lacing, light body, low carbonation, and pilsner malt & hint of apple aroma. Taste is cinnamon, pilsner malt, some grainy wheat, and some apple. Not interested in having this again.

On tap. Hazy golden like a wheat, didn’t retain its head very long. Apple seems like artificial flavoring, very sweet, though there was a nice tartness to it. More apple than beer, I’d rather have a cider...

Tastes more like Apple pie than beer. Not complaining though, I really enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

Blech... Pint pour of urine with a full finger head that disappears within twenty seconds. Nose is fake apples, light cinnamon and sugar. Flavor is rough, sugary sweetness and too much of it. No presence of beer qualities... Apples, and sugar/cinnamon... Not pleasant...

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of apple, cinnamon and light clove. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of apple, cinnamon and light clove with a crisp lingering cinnamon apple finish.

12oz. bottle: This one pours a hazy, darker golden color. There was a small white head on it that didn’t linger long. Spice is the main component of the aroma, almost a cross between apple and pumpkin pie. Some wheat notes also. The taste is different. Definitely a taste of crisp apples. A bit of wheat and cinnamon. It’s not bad, I’m just not sure I could drink too many of these.

Clear copper color with white head. Apple and cinnamon aroma. Light crisp with apple and cinnamon flavors.
