Sample @ PGH Beerfest. Poured black in color with a thin head of foam. Very thin body. Not much flavor at all. Not very enjoyable. Pretty ordinary and Blah.

Nice aroma of coffee, chocolate, and subtle hops. Pours a dark, clean molasses color. Lots of chocolate malty tones up front, transitioning to bittersweet and then hoppy. Molasses and malty throughout. A bit thinner than I would expect. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark black like a porter, lager like, aroma and taste are not bitter enough, feels a little thin, needs to be a big IPA with full body ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating #1273 6.10.2014. 341ml bottle from Shipyard IPA mix pack from Coop. Pours a darker coffee brown with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is a violent clash between toasted malt, and citrus, grainy hops. Taste is extremely hoppy, tempered with a pleasant coffee, nut brown sweetness. But then again, I love black "pale" ales.

Location: 12 oz bottle from A&P Hoboken, 10/9/15

Aroma: The aroma is citrus and roast with a bit of pine and some earthy notes
Appearance: Dark brown in color with an average sized beige head on top
Flavor: The flavor is a mix of roasty and bitter, decent overall
Palate: Medium bodied with a solid mouthfeel, soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: Decent overall beer. Solid flavor, gets dry in the finish. Not great, but not bad either. Still, this one is pretty solid.

Poured a medium to darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of soapy hops and roasted malt. Flavor similar, still be eternal than other stuff from them.

Draft at Seaside beerfest. Poured a solid pitch black with a creamy dark beige head. Aroma of burnt malts, dark black toast, burnt dark chocolate, roasted grapefruit. Flavor of burnt toast, burnt grapefruit and a lighter cutrusy sweet ending. Medium to fuller body, chalky mouthfeel with average carbonation and a lingering aftertaste. This is really nice.
