Heavier malt taste that calms but leaves molasses on the palate. Definitely a heavier ale, but still good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Drank from a pint glass, poured from a twelve ounce bottle. Purchased in Warwick, NY. Pours black, with nice frothy, light brown head. Aromas of chocolate and coffee, mostly dominated by the aroma of Simcoe. Not a very good black IPA.

Sample @ PGH Beerfest. Poured black in color with a thin head of foam. Very thin body. Not much flavor at all. Not very enjoyable. Pretty ordinary and Blah.

Bottle in Clearwater, FL. Dark brown body with medium tan head. Nose is roasty with hops and citrus. Taste is also malts and caramel with some bitterness. Dry finish.

Nice aroma of coffee, chocolate, and subtle hops. Pours a dark, clean molasses color. Lots of chocolate malty tones up front, transitioning to bittersweet and then hoppy. Molasses and malty throughout. A bit thinner than I would expect. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark black like a porter, lager like, aroma and taste are not bitter enough, feels a little thin, needs to be a big IPA with full body ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating #1273 6.10.2014. 341ml bottle from Shipyard IPA mix pack from Coop. Pours a darker coffee brown with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is a violent clash between toasted malt, and citrus, grainy hops. Taste is extremely hoppy, tempered with a pleasant coffee, nut brown sweetness. But then again, I love black "pale" ales.

Bottle; pours nearly black with a khaki head; aroma of roast malt and tropical fruit with some hints of chocolate and pine; taste is bittersweet with roast malt, grapefruit, and pine and chocolate notes; finish is bittersweet with roasted malt; very good

Location: 12 oz bottle from A&P Hoboken, 10/9/15

Aroma: The aroma is citrus and roast with a bit of pine and some earthy notes
Appearance: Dark brown in color with an average sized beige head on top
Flavor: The flavor is a mix of roasty and bitter, decent overall
Palate: Medium bodied with a solid mouthfeel, soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: Decent overall beer. Solid flavor, gets dry in the finish. Not great, but not bad either. Still, this one is pretty solid.
