12oz Bottle. The pour was a deep dark black with an average (1-2 finger) creamy khaki colored head that reduced down to a thin film with a medium collar and had good streaky lacing. The aroma was of roasted chocolate malts and an earthy yeast with notes of milk chocolate, roasted coffee, dark fruit (prunes and black cherry) and a wisp of smoke. The taste was lightly sweet with a smooth milky chocolate note and a roasty malt presence from the get go, progressing with a decent coffee bitterness and a slight smoky fruitiness at the end. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow, with a mildly bitter coffee taste left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was just below medium in body with a thin watery texture and a soft carbonation. Overall I found this to be a little thin for a Stout, although it did posses and nice mild fruitiness which along with the light bitterness and the low ABV makes this a nice and tasty session beer for all us dark beer lovers... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Full head and lots of lacing. Aromas of dark coffee and creaminess on the nose, almost like real buttermilk. Tastes of dark coffee, roasted grains and has a medium-long finish.

Bottle. Another one I’m just realizing I haven’t rated before. This is one of my favorite stouts. Pours black with a tan head. This one’s on the lighter side as stouts go. There is some cocoa flavor that comes through and the finish is smooth.

Bottle. Hearty looking pour, silky dark brown with a tight brown head. Initially the aroma is more sweetness than roast, even a little bubblegum. As it meets the air for a while, the roast comes forward and I get a little earthy manure too. The palate is very roasty, quite full-bodied for the listed ABV. None of the sweetness in the aroma is found here; this is a nice hearty stout that is truly dry. Well made, very enjoyable, and a nice surprise from a brewery that has been mostly average for me.

Lots of darkly roasted malts and a bit of a citrusy edge in the aroma. Dry and clean, some smokey malt immediately. Mild bitterness into a burnt oatmeal flavor. Finishes with a bit of dry acidity. Price is excellent (a 22oz runs less than $3.50 locally), but careful cooking with this one. Reducing it down concentrates the bitter smoke flavors and it’s easy to overpower the other flavors in the dish.

355 ml bottle. BB M/13. (K-Citymarket) Jyväskylä, Finland.
I’m not quite sure about the ABV as it’s not mentioned on the label. But it’s illegal to sell any beers with more than 4.7% in the supermarkets and I bought this from one. Black colour with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, grassy hops and mild bitterness. Not bad. The flavour is quite simple with roasted malt, dry grainy notes, grassy hops and some mild bitterness. Very drinkable. Slightly thin.
