2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Available all over the place here. Pours a tarry black-brown with a trim khaki head. Smell instantly of grill char, coal, hops, candied ginger, heat and roasted marshmallows. Tastes mostly of charcoal, plastic, hops and leather. Ends insanely odd with notes of tin, ginger, cardboard, and allspice. Has an almost immediate warming alcohol presence by swallow. I enjoyed how this stout stout began, just not how it ended.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap sample at the brewery in April 2010. Near black with a modest beige head. Some powdery cocoa on the nose. Dry and a little dusty on the palate. Burnt malts and more powdery cocoa in the flavour. Firm but relatively light. Straightforward but tasty enough and very drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A pretty drinkable straight stout. Flavor is mostly bittersweet roasted malt with a touch of coffee and a touch of cocoa. Aroma has a nice charred aroma to it as well. Pretty quick on the finish but leaves a slightly sweet lip smack well into the night.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle from some liquor store in Bethany Beach, DE. Pours a black body with a thin, creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is roasts, leather, bittersweet dark chocolate with a slight milky sweetness, a touch of vanilla, and a few dark fruit notes. Flavor is similar. Sweeter dark chocolates with some bittersweet notes and a light milky sweetness along with a burnt roastiness, some smoked leather, a light vanilla, a few dark fruits, and earth. Finishes dry with a roasty, light earthy bitterness and a creamy chocolate sweetness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-thin feeling body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent dry stout. Burnt roasts with dark and milky chocolates to balance in a slightly thin body. Easy drinking and enjoyable enough.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle with dinner at the Marriott in Quincy, Massachusetts. The pour is nearly black, with a thin tannish brown head. The aroma is char roast, with light cocoa malt sweetness behind that. The taste is dry, char roast, flinty, with a hint of the malt sweetness of the nose. Mostly about the char roast. The palate is light bodied, thin, dry and flinty. This was an easy drinking stout.
