3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Outstanding full aroma of toasty malt. Bit of a head, very malty with focus on roasted flavor without much in the way of hops, somewhat dry finish. Nice. Certainly above average if you like malty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown with a full cream colored head, warm and toasty. Coffee-bitter. A bit thin, but tasty and enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark brown thick fluffy head with light lacing. Aromas of licorice and coffee. Flavors of burnt coffee and licorice, very little carbonation. Easy drinking beer for a stout, light mouthfeel and pleasant aftertaste. Almost seems like they went for a session stout, if you have a long day of drinking and love stouts this is worth a shot.

Pours super dark, very smooth with a little bite at the end. Very good overall. I could drink a lot of these on accident...

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Bottle. Thanks to ekstedt. Dark reddish brown with an offwhite head. Some coffee to the nose, but the smell of this (hopefully bad) sample was totally dominated by sulphur. Taste of mineral water with some bitterness.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2005 Bottle -- Good black color with a thin head. But taste was far too light and overally carbonated on the palate. Definitely hints of coffee but not enough richness.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours thick black with quickly dissipating dark tan head. The aroma is sweet and sour with coffee and liquorices notes. There never is much sweetness in the flavor, it quickly transition to its finish, which is smoky with a lingering bitterness. Feels watery and drinkable. Okay stout.
