A slightly stronger Guinness copy with a deep, almost black body and a creamy white head that is always pleasing to drink. Blue Fin Stout is brewed and bottled according to tradition with only premium, high quality ingredients.

hint of coffee my arse. Coffee like a shovel to the back of the head. I tried it on tap at the brewery and thought it was way too coffee then, but decided to give it a second shot out of the bottle. Just as bad. However, the bottle did have an interesting smokey flavour to it, slightly salty. Maybe if I didn’t think coffee was so vile I would like this beer a little more.

Despite a gentle pour the head on this thing just went crazy, and I had to spend minutes just waiting for it to die down before I could try pouring some more. Overall it tasted good, with dry chocolate flavors with a slightly bitter finish, but it was a little too close to Guinness for me to be impressed.

Bargain at £1per bottle from Morrison’s. Looks like Guinness. Smells a bit like Guinness. Probably tastes slightly better than Guinness. Very chocolate(y), coffee(ish) and malty. Lovely!

Pours black with a ample tan head. Looks great in the glass. Taste was roasty, coffee with some sourness. Finish was slightly hoppy and slightly dry. Nothing bad about this, but nothing to set it apart either.

Pours dark, big dark tan head with a lot of staying power. Coffee and chocolate aromas, slightly thin mouthfeel, almost porterish.

Nose of prunes or raisins. It is kind of dry, with a long somewhat sour finish. A lot of nice flavors, but unbalanced and somewhat sour. Overall disappointing.

22 oz bomber bottle. Motor oil pour small beige head, produced solid lacing that coated the glass. Aroma is of a nice chocolate coffee scent. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate with an easy light hop bitterness that leaves a tingle on your tongue. Nice carbonation from a bottle. Medium bodied, not exceptionally thick but that gives you the ability to drink large amounts if you so choose. Drinkability is rather high on this one. The composition makes your mouth water and leaves you wanting more. An agreeable dry finish. I would purchase again.
