Pours blackish with a thin cappuccino colored head. Nose is a bit of coffee with hints of berry. Taste is pleasantly bitter. A bit thin for a stout for me. Vigorous carbonation. Decent brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very big dark tan/light brown on top of an opaque black beer. Sugar, molasses, and mild herbal hop on the nose, but its weak. Creamy oversweet sweetness in the body, not particularly grainy malt but caramel and toffee on top of the faintest note of roast on the palate. Little by way of burnt black malt, too. Wonder if caramel or molasses added? Perhaps not. Leaves my lips sticky but full, full taste, feel, and finish. Strange one. Has many of the harder to achieve elements of a stout, whilst missing quite a lot of the basics of the style.
