anthlovesbeer (61), north grafton, Massachusetts, USA Mar 28, 2008 Just th right amount of hops gives this ale a well-balanced malty and citrus flavor. Not strong like most IPA’s. Very smooth and very refreshing.
smjohnst (106), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 2, 2008 Was really anxious to try this but was not impressed. It was surprising how watered down it tasted for how high the alcohol content is. Just wasn’t much to it. PorterPounder (2802), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 1, 2008 Tampa, Fl. - Total Wines 12 oz bottle. Bright, medium copper pour with a sticky off-white head that leaves behind a nice coat of lacing. Slightly sprucey aroma with hints of spice and vanilla. Flavor has some hoppy grapefruity citrus notes, some malt presence is felt with some maple syrup notes, some spicy notes, and some subtle bitterness more akin to a British bitter than a west coast American IPA. Clean even mouthfeel. This would make a good session ale if not for the high abv (relatively speaking). daknole (568), Plantation, Florida, USA Jul 13, 2008 Pours an amber color with a nice big mostly white head. Good lacing. Aroma was more malt than hops. Flavor was malty and had some decent hops. An easy beer to drink and pretty enjoyable, just not a world class IPA. Veer (324), Landskrona, Sweden Jul 13, 2008 Aroma: fudgy, earthy malt. Orangy hops... biscuits, honey.
Flavour: pretty nice, mineral, dirt, fudge, hop bitterness, seed. Sappy & milky. Mild sweetness - dry aftertaste.
Palate: fizzy, chemical, slightly viscous, fluffy.
Appearance: boring, clear orange with pale yellow, frothy head. ucusty (864), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 12, 2008 Pale color buttery aroma. Caramel, butter popcorn flavor. light, but not enough hop punch! This one wasn’t for me...
