My bottle says brewers brown ale so I hope I’m in the right place, 12 oz twist off cap bottle. First aroma is rather slaglike someswhat like gram ma’s permanant hair treat ment. Taste certainly is much more than the 4% listed here would indicate. Good level of co2. A rather full personality bitter dark beer but different bitter than a impy. Yes quite a dusty personality. Some raosty candy personality hidden behind the tree. Different for a change.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hangover (926) - Atlanta, USA - APR 5, 2011
Dark brown pour with big, creamy off-white head. Aroma is nutty and chocolatey. Nice mouthfeel, light carbonation. Chocolate flavor, some roast, lactose and a bit of nuttiness. Solid brown, maybe a bit too sweet.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bhensonb (7143) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 27, 2011
Bottle from Half Time. Pours really dark brown with a 1 finger creamy beige head. It has that fairly typical dark roast "brown" malt aroma. And there is that "hint of chocolate". Near med body with mild carbonation. There is chocolate flavor, but I get that diacetyl impact that doesn’t help the flavor. After the start the flavor sort of goes everywhere and nowhere. It ends sort of lightly chocolate and not too sweet, not too bitter. Doesn’t connect for me.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 quiznoaz (144) - Arizona, USA - MAR 9, 2011
Clear dark brown pour, no head to speak of, very few rising bubbles. The flavor isn’t bad, toasted malt with a hint of bitter and a slight hint of dark fruit (no sweetness, just similar flavors). However, there is practically no carbonation, which really takes away from the whole package.
