very nice brown ale, malty, yet full-bodied, not too heavy, goes down smooth and easy with a nice mellow aftertaste

Provdatum: 2009-09-03 D: Newcastle brown ale + kaffe U: Cocacola färgad med julmust skum S: Som en Newcastle, men lite torrare och någon metallisk bismak. Faktiskt helt OK men "orginalet" rules. Brukar bli besviken på Shippyard men inte denna gång... ES: söt syrlig mjuk dimma Anteckningar:

This was an everyday beer for me. It certainly better than most widely available beers, but I have also had better brown ales. It has a medium body, medium body, creamy, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, medium sourness, brown.

One of the harder Shipyard brews to find. I may dispute the description as a Classic English-style brown ale; this seems to be the hoppier American Brown Ale style. A solid yet light-bodied malt base and sweetness is quickly balanced by a subtle hop presence which lingers into the finish.

12oz bottle pours dark brown with amber hues and thin light tan head. The aroma offers up prunes and dates as well as some malts, some crystal malts and maybe nuttiness too. The taste has some roasted malts, spicy maple and spicy to earthy hop notes to start. It gets slightly roasty with malts into the finish. It ends with lingering anise like spiciness, spicy hops and earthy hops. Pretty hop forward brown.

from 12 oz. bottle, smells of maple syrup first and then the malts. pours brown, pretty dark, thin white head gone within a minute. the flavor comes across as mostly maple syrup to me, and some caramel. I like this brown ale over many others, good stuff!

12 oz. bottle, Best Enjoyed Before 9/05. Purchased by a friend as part of the World Market "Beers Of America" 10-pack for my 30th birthday...Pours a semi sparkling light ruby/brown with an averaged sized creamy off-white head that lasted a good while...Heavy caramel and molasses malts with light perfume hops. Has a definite buttery taste too...Full bodied and creamy with soft carbonation and a nutty finish...Very sweet chocolate with a slightly bitter butterscotch flavor coming through near the end...Overall, a great session ale. Reminds me of liquid chocolate waffles with topped with smooth maple syrup. Very nice finish, very nice beer...
