DrDavid (20), , Vermont, USA Jul 20, 2008 Crafty07 describes this well.....I agree it’s good, but not great. Certainly not entirely worthy of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain himself. From the bottle, pours nice, and the flavor is well balanced but without much distinction. Crafty07 (331), Lexington, Kentucky, USA Jun 28, 2008 I"m not going to lie, I admire the scholar-warrior, Chamberlain far more than the good but not great pale they have named after him.
Floral and bitter enough to impress the geeks, I find the beer they honor this hero with lacks the character the man had.
Besides, I’ve a feeling General Chamberlain would have been more of a stout or a dunkel man. Boutip (1725), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 13, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a good size foamy head with good retention and some nice lacing notes. Aroma of English dry hops with a nice medium sweet caramel malt base. Taste is also a well balance mix between some English style hops with some notes of delicious caramel malt. Very well balance overall with loads of character but still easily drinkable. Full body with good carbonation. Really well made and possibly helps that I got a really fresh bottle directly from the brewery. jefcon (821), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jun 5, 2008 Light and coppery in the glass. Lots of aroma -- floral, herbal, hopcit. No real malt backing to the beer keeps the hops front and center, but the beer and the hops lack richness and depth. DenverLogan (420), Oceanside, California, USA May 14, 2008 Amber gold color, moderate malt and field aroma. An easy drinking, relatively light beer with some crispness, flowers, hops, grains. Not too special but not bad either...a decent session beer.
