3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I always feel a sense of relief after opening and pouring a craftbrewers Pale Ale and am rewarded with a nice medium brown gold color instead of a thin yellow fizzy. Jimmy Carter be praised. Sour yeast and malt aroma and a tight smallish head. Yeasty malt flavor is immediately cut by the hops and a steady carbonation works to keep things light and dry. Nice rendition of the style and a surprisingly good offering from Shipyard.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Has a very crisp aroma that is very springy and floralish. Is a light amber, very clear and sparkly appearance. Has a light white head, looks very appealing in glass. Very good flavor that is not too bitter or sweet. A perfect summer beer.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
pours amber with 1 finger white head. Herbs and lemon with sweet malt aroma and taste with a touch of skunk. Smooth and watery with an herb after taste. Low on alcohol content as well. Nothing noteworthy, wouldn’t try it again.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Smoother than expected. Not too hoppy. Lighter amber color. As far as Pale Ale’s go, given my inclination towards them, decent.

Bottle, Duvel tulip, cellar temp. Best before Jan ’08. Clear reddish copper. Big fast white head, poor lacing. Aromas are malty, herbal, piney. Light to medium body, thin texture. Sweet malty flavor, dry bitter finish. There was a metallic quality which ruined it for me.

The aroma is very hoppy and sweet. Very pretty dark amber color. Flavor isn’t too hoppy-- slightly bitter with a nice smooth finish. Good pale ale.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice. Rich and chewy. Has the freshness of spring and the thoughtfulness of autum. Just enough of everything -- malts, hop, even attitude.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours amber with a light tan foamy head. Aroma is sour and just weird, not sure what it is. Has a medical, plastic aroma, weird. Tastes better but there is still something a bit off. Taste though is dominated by sweet caramel and roasted malts which give it good character. Just wish that smell was better.
