COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The classic English style of Chamberlain Pale Ale is enhanced by its golden copper hue and creamy white head. It is dry and crisp with an aromatic hoppy finish. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain: Civil war hero. Medal of honor winner. Maine governor. President of Bowdoin College. The Chamberlain Pale Ale was created by the Shipyard Brewing Company to commemorate the extraodinary life of "the man from Maine."

pours amber with 1 finger white head. Herbs and lemon with sweet malt aroma and taste with a touch of skunk. Smooth and watery with an herb after taste. Low on alcohol content as well. Nothing noteworthy, wouldnít try it again.

Smoother than expected. Not too hoppy. Lighter amber color. As far as Pale Aleís go, given my inclination towards them, decent.

Bottle, Duvel tulip, cellar temp. Best before Jan í08. Clear reddish copper. Big fast white head, poor lacing. Aromas are malty, herbal, piney. Light to medium body, thin texture. Sweet malty flavor, dry bitter finish. There was a metallic quality which ruined it for me.

The aroma is very hoppy and sweet. Very pretty dark amber color. Flavor isnít too hoppy-- slightly bitter with a nice smooth finish. Good pale ale.

Nice. Rich and chewy. Has the freshness of spring and the thoughtfulness of autum. Just enough of everything -- malts, hop, even attitude.

Pours amber with a light tan foamy head. Aroma is sour and just weird, not sure what it is. Has a medical, plastic aroma, weird. Tastes better but there is still something a bit off. Taste though is dominated by sweet caramel and roasted malts which give it good character. Just wish that smell was better.

22oz Bomber with no date, poured into a pint glass. It pours a clear burnt yellow with a nice size head. There is mild carbonation action after the initial pour. Floral sweetness on the nose with a faint hint of hops. Something else there that I canít place my finger on. The flavors are quick to the palate and leave a nice dry finish. Bitters from the hops dominate. I was surprised that this was only 4.9 ABV as it was almost like the bitterness was trying to hide the alcohol. Itís a medium to light bodied ale with moderate carbonation. A bit bitter for my liking, otherwise Iíd call it a session. Definitely worth a try. Iíd pair it with with anything grilled on a summer day.
