The Shipyard Brewing Company's flagship beer, is a full bodied ale, with a hint of sweetness up front, a subtle and distinctive hope taste, and a very clean and traditional finish.

Bottle from Tesco in Eastbourne shared with McTapps. Average Ale with a bt of hops and some malty moments, maybe some nuts. Drinkable but just refreshing and not relly satisfying.

Bottle bought at local Tesco in Eastbourne. Pours out in a deep blonde-golden colour with low steady head and medium body. Aroma of hoos, bread and flowers. Taste of mild hops, grains, bread, cereals, flowers and mild herbs. Easy to drink and refreshing, yet nothing very special.

Bottle from Gardiner & Haskins, Bristol. Clear gold, with a big, white head. Inoffensive beer, with plenty of cereal malts, a touch of hedgerow hop and moderately bitter finish. Ok.

DATE REVIEWED: June 29, 2014... GLASSWARE: Barley Creek pint... OCCASION: prepping for P90X3--starting tomorrow...APPEARANCE: quickly dismissed off-white head; body is translucent copper with subtle, sparse effervescence... AROMA: caramel malts join with softer hops to produce a relatively pleasant promise... PALATE: sessionably sippable; slightly buttery; little or no aftertaste... TASTE: buttery caramel malts, front and center; a bit of blood iron, metallic hops; some fruity esters are involved--not so much complex as a base mixture of beer’s usual elements ... OVERALLL: described as a golden or blond by Rate Beer, I though this played more as an ESB--refreshing like a Kolsch, but more publike in its demeanor and flavor profile--not quite solid enough to demand seconds but not offensive...

Bottle at home from backlog notes. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have grainy malts, biscuits, grass, light citrus and additional fruit, some earthy notes. Just not much to get excited about.

Had this for the first time in many years. Drank from the bottle. Got this from a twelve pack sampler (Old Thumper, Applehead, & Chamberlin pale ale). I remember enjoying these, I don’t know if it was a bad batch or the recipe has changed, but wasn’t happy with this one. I will have to have some on a later day and rerate.

Had this for lunch today with an overpriced fish and chips. Ok, really not much going on here. Wet. Better than water.

Bottle from Tesco Wrexham. Pours a nice gold colour with a pillowy white head. Aroma is tropical, hoppy and slightly metallic. Taste is pretty much the same with a good amount of malt. Nice enough, not incredible though.

330ml Bottle. It pours a thin white head over a golden body. Its aroma is faint but there is some malt and some caramel amongst floral notes. Its taste was surprising deep for a yankee beer. There was caramel and malts again but with quite a strong hint of honey and there was a definite earthiness to it too. Shame about the small bottle but a very good effort. Quite enjoyable.
