COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Shipyard Brewing Company's flagship beer, is a full bodied ale, with a hint of sweetness up front, a subtle and distinctive hope taste, and a very clean and traditional finish.

Nice bitter aroma at the beginning, moves to a pale malt and very yeasty aroma. Good label, standard American twistoff bottle. Some cider, starchy, strongly acidic and hoppy. Finish is overbrewed, tinny and doughy with some off flavors.

Fruity yeast aroma. Light orange colour. Malt balanced flavour, with a late mettalic bitterness.

12 oz. brown bottle. Damned twist off cap. No freshness date. Poured out a deep golden color, with a fast fading white, thin head. Didn't have the decency to even leave a lacing down the side of the glass. Aromas of stale malts, and even staler hops. Slight cheesy aroma to it as well. Ringwood yeast makes it's presence known also. Some diacetyl present. Not acceptable in a pale ale by any means. Try again, Shipyard.

This beer just lacks everything. No hops, no malt. Just a bit too tame. I wouldn't even call it easy drinking.

poured a dark readish color, with not that much nose. A soft ale flavor, but a not very could finish. Could of been better.

This is a terrific beer! The last time I had it, I wasn't as impressed, but it seems like the second time is a charm. Nice clear copper color, not too hoppy, just right. Finish is clean and not sticky.

Slight malty aroma. Poured nice copper color but not much head at all. Some lacing along the way. Taste was decent, mostly malty but some hoppiness to balance it out. Good Carbonation. This is Not the best from Shipyard but still a decent brew

Decent frothy head with good carbonation. Slight fruity aroma with a trace of hops. Color is a medium orange. Flavor is mild with malt and a zesty taste. Finish is slightly bitter and hoppy and tingles on the tongue. A decent ale but then there are a lot of decent ales.

Bottle. Amber color, hops and slightly roasted aroma. Medium body, well carbonated, clean, decent malt, balanced, I'd say all around average beer with any standout flavors.

I canít tell you how many times I have had this beer. It has become a beer that I now buy by the case, share with friends, and use to convert people into craft beer. A respectable malty backbone adds light suggestions of toffee, toasted wheat bread, and buttered biscuits. There is a crisp, lightly fruity finish: plum and apple, with a snappish woodsy hopped finish. Again, Iím thinking Iíve had this beer a hundred timesÖ. Always pleasurable!

Shipyard Ale seems to be a pretty decent brew. It is much maltyer than I had expected, though it was either the malt or the hint of hopps used in brewing that seemed to give this beer a slightly metallic nose and flavor. The flavor was slightly buttery, sweet, however leaving a bitter finish. I want to retry this beer because I really enjoyed the Shipyard Dry Stout. Overall, itís nothing to get excited over.
