spikester (407), Salem, Oregon, USA Apr 30, 2008 Light amber with two inch white head. Some lacing. Aroma is vegetal, herbal.
Taste is very middle-of-the-road. Not bad for a golden or pale ale. Probably right on the button for this type. Good session brew. Hops are present but subdued. Overall a sweet but flavorful drink. Very slight bitter aftertaste.
GreatLibations (1260), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Aug 21, 2008 Tawny golden in color with a tall lasting head. Smells of toasted biscuits. Full nectar with mellow residual effers. Slightly fruit with heavy biscuit essence on the palate. The finish is bittered mildly. urnamesucks (92), New York City, New York, USA Aug 20, 2008 There was something off about this beer. It was much better from the tap than in the 22oz. bottles I bought afterwards. Disappointing. phishpond417 (1409), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 20, 2008 I’m not sure why I haven’t reviewed this one before. New to Wisconsin about a year ago, sampled it first on draught in Boston at the Paradise Rock Club a couple years back. Not my favorite from these guys, pours a dark blonde-light amber colour with a medium sized head. Mouthfeel is decent, well carbonated brew, well integrated hop character and a soft nutty undertones. Contains characteristics of a weaker amber. Mes_and_Sim (4320), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 17, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at GBBF. Golden colour with an off white head. A little too sweet, very fruity and rather a lot (as in way too much) diacetyl. Pretty much a fail. Dubbercody (166), Vancouver, Washington, USA Aug 10, 2008 Picked up a bottle on a whim. Could not pass up a beer from the ’other’ Portland.
Too bad I didn’t like it. Has a strange off flavor kind of a weirdly sour sweet taste in the middle of the mouth. Kinda funny beer. I’m hoping I somehow got a weird one because, well, it’s not my cup ’O.
