COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This light copper single hop India Pale Ale is brewed only with the Fuggles hops. It has a smooth, dry, and crisp flavor with floral aroma and apple plum palate.

Basic IPA. Not of the CA hoppy variety. Instead, more akin to Shelter Pale Ale without the refreshing taste. I picked this up as part of a build your own six pack. Not something I’d buy again. Nothing stands out for me. It’s more like a Sam Adams. If nothing else was available, I’d order it.

Purchased at the SAQ beside the Casino in Hull, Quebec. Pours a slightly hazy golden-amber colour with a creamy cap that stays a while and leaves great tiny lace all around. Aromas of caramel malts over the hop and something that is less appealing (but can’t put my finger on what it is). Not much taste to this one. Hints of cereal and hard to find the hop. Mildly dry and not much else than easy drinking. An easy-going IPA for those who do not like too much hop, but want something slightly better than commercial ones.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy golden beer with a very strong head. The aroma is mildly malty and hopped, and the flavour is very deeply dry and bitter with a long hopped finish. Overall a basic but very reasonable American IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Meh. Nothing special to see here. Some up front cereal and a bit of a hop backing. Maybe some citrus in the middle. Very light and watery in the mouth with medium carbonation.

Pours a clear amber with a large chunky head, but it dissipates rather quickly. The aroma is cereal and corn. Moderately sweet base, with a distinct savory flavor of corn and lager yeast. Very strange. The finish is one dimensional and not very bitter. Lacks much hop character. It does in fact resemble a pale lager with an extra handful of hops. Excuse me, fuggles hops.

Une bonne bière, mais absolument rien de spécial. Belle apparence à la pale ale et beau collet bien stable. Amertume digne d’une ipa. C’est tout.

Ah. Another IPA in this ocean. Nothing special about this one. Not bad, not good. Nothing else to say.

Bottle from Kris Wines, London. Drunk on thanksgiving. Light amber pour with a medium white head. Insipid nose of vague hop and sweet malts. Flavour was watery and really lacked any balls. Very lacklustre hop bitterness. Disappointingly average.

As a somewhat mainstream craft beer Shipyard IPA is OK. The pour creates a small white head. The appearance is lighter in nature than many IPAs. It also has a light haze to it. The aroma has hints of citrus. The taste is an immedaite hop sensation that quickly dissapates. The actual flavor is lacking and I really didn’t detect much of any unique flavor. The aftertaste is a little bitter that subsides after 10 - 15 seconds. I buy an occasional 6 pack when I’m somewhere I cannot get a better IPA.
