ucusty (1016), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 12, 2008 Orange pour with white head and a fair amount of lace. Earthy hop aroma. Hoppy, malty and dry. decent
hughie (2194), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 27, 2008 Bottle from BSF Bar, GBBF ’08. Old gold with a white head. Aroma seemed rather nettly at first, but there was a gradual development that revealed first a canned tangerine sweetness, and then sweet caramel malts. Taste was gently fruity with some piney hops and a mid bitter finish, all overlaid with the sweetness of the malt. Quite understated for an American IPA, and none the worse for that. Sigmund (1928), Hafrsfjord, Norway Aug 25, 2008 12 fl. oz. bottle, bought at the GBBF 2008 for takeaway. Amber colour, big head. Aroma of Fuggles hops, but surprisingly moderate. The flavour is dominated by Fuggles hops as expected, but there is also a noticeable malty sweetness. Some fruity notes and a piney and slightly soapy finish. The bitterness is fairly subdued for an American IPA. iride15 (112), Sanford, Florida, USA Aug 24, 2008 Fruity aroma and a light gold poor. Flavor of fruit and malt, but tastes too light and understated. Call it an average IPA. doubleo (749), San Diego, California, USA Aug 21, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours amber with a thin, crisp white head, specks of lace. Smells floral hoppy with some sweet malts. Tastes light and subdued floral hoppy with a big, metallic malt flavor as well. Unbalanced maltiness in my opinion. Medium body, vibrant carbonation. urnamesucks (92), New York City, New York, USA Aug 20, 2008 One of the most avergae IPA’s I’ve ever drank. If you’re an IPA freak you will enjoy this, but if not save your money and spend it elsewhere.
