COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Porter is a full bodied, very dark, malty beer with a good roasted character coming from the Crystal, Chocolate and Black Patent Malts used in the mash. Warrior, English Fuggles, and East Kent Goldings Hops balance the malts with a good hop bite. The beer has an OG of 1.070, rounding out after fermentation with just a slight residual sweetness and cutting dry at the finish. 7.1% alcohol by volume.

650 ml bottle- pours a dark brown clear ale in the glass, puffy 3 finger tan cap - laces the glass decently. Modest carbonation. Aroma is roasty and malty, some grassy hops, very demure nose to this. Flavor is big - Porter on steroids... big roast, decent hop balance, alcohol totally hidden....long rich roasty finish, warming effect. I like porter and prefer it over stout and I love this big porter.

355 ml bottle. BBE D/12. Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Finland. Dark coffee brown colour with a small tan head. Roasted malt, hops, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and cocoa in the aroma. The flavour is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, grassy hops and some bitterness. Bitterness and ashy notes in the aftertaste. Coffee is quite strong and it's disturbing me a bit. I'm not a coffee lover. Well, I've never tasted coffee but I can guess what it tastes like. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an expected dark brown with a thin beige cap. The aroma is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, carboard, and then a strange note of yogurt. The flavour is an exact reflection of all that, including the odd yogurt note. Meh, doesn’t really do it for me.

Smak och doft av humle, malt, mörk choklad, kaffe och toner av lakrits Betydande kaffesmak, stor sötma med avslutande stor beska.

22oz bomber. Last style I haven’t tried! I definitely advise drinking this beer at the recommended temperature, 55F, it makes a big difference. Dark walnut color, no head, almost no lacing. Medium aroma, alcoholic, toasty, smells stronger than 7.1%. Taste matches, burnt and slightly alcoholic. I didn’t like it very much at first, but I ended up liking it OK. Not worth $11.

bottle. Pours dark black, large thick head. Aroma of chocolate malts, roast. Taste is sharp, hoppy, citrus? Thin mouthfeel. Decent beer, but I was expecting more.

Solid effort. Maybe a bit thin for a porter but that may just me. Not my favorite porter.

Bottled. Again, a solid effort that is starting to get me past the reluctance to purchase beer from this brewery. Love the english characteristic from the hops, a bit catty on the nose but the sweetness is slight caramel instead of overwhelming. The Warrior gives it a bit of citric flavor, which makes it finish somewhat dry and bitter.

Pours almost black with a thin, dark tan head. Aroma is cola, molasses, dark fruit, roast. Taste is lightly burned coffee and chocolate... Malty, highly carbonated. Slight hoppiness...increasing bitter as it goes.....very good.

22oz bottle. Very dark brown clear color (a full glass appears black). Big light borwn head. Decent lace. Stronger carbonation. Soft texture. Medium - plus body. Dry overall. Bittersweet taste - more bitter than sweet, though. Toasty malts, light chocolate. Prominent hop in this porter. Earthy, spicy hops. Light pine. Some coffee. Light dark fruit (red grape). Very mild burnt malt / ashy / smokey characteristic. Decent, interesting, unique porter, on the bigger side.

Pours black with a big frothy beige head. Well carbonated with a big hiss upon opening. Aroma is big roasted malts, some smoke. Taste is a dry roasted malt profile with a small hop bitterness, some smoke and mocha coffee finish this out.
