COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shipyard Monkey Fist IPA is the genesis of a new generation of IPA. The traditional elements of classic English IPA have been redefined by American craft beer innovation. Like the image suggests, Monkey Fist is edgy, aggressive, and unique in style. This beer is brilliant copper in color and exploding with Warrior, Glacier, and Cascade hop character but able to maintain a beautiful balance. Monkey Fist holds up to the spiciest foods or is delicious savored just on its own. And, in case you didnít know, a Monkey Fist is the knot tied at the end of a sailorís rope to serve as a weight and make it easier to throw. Cheers!

500 mL can. Off - diacetyl. Itís got the popcorn kernel thing going in the aroma and the flavour. Underneath it didnít stand up to the APA I just had, but who knows iff this is an accurate representation of this beer. A shame.

Late nite pour as Iím firing up the Xbox is deep orange with a fluffy one finger cap. Aroma is bruised citrus. A punchy brew, with a taste that is somewhere between bright citrus & brisk malts. Aftertaste burns slightly hollow. A good reboot of the British ipa in that malty middle America style.

Clear orange, small white head. Grassy and citrus hop aroma. Medium body. Up front bitter floral citrus hops, some malt balance. Nothing particularly exceptional about this but a perfectly reasonable IPA.
