COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shipyard Monkey Fist IPA is the genesis of a new generation of IPA. The traditional elements of classic English IPA have been redefined by American craft beer innovation. Like the image suggests, Monkey Fist is edgy, aggressive, and unique in style. This beer is brilliant copper in color and exploding with Warrior, Glacier, and Cascade hop character but able to maintain a beautiful balance. Monkey Fist holds up to the spiciest foods or is delicious savored just on its own. And, in case you didn’t know, a Monkey Fist is the knot tied at the end of a sailor’s rope to serve as a weight and make it easier to throw. Cheers!

aroma..for all the aggressive hops promised this is yeasty and malty in the aroma, almost like a soft pretzel..looks good a deep amber clear liquid with off white foamy head that thins but leaves lacing..tastes like an irish red with a bit more back end aftertaste bitterness..smooth and slick on the palate..overall this is merely okay some English bitter fans might like it not a great IPA

Had it on draft, nice and chilled. Slight IPA nose, deep color, nice IPA bite without being too tart, no bad aftertaste, a good beer to start the evening meal ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Apricot and tea nose. Cloudy amber, thick head, good lace. Tart and bitter apple core, twigs. Medium body, soft carbonation, alcohol not noticeable. Tastes like it might be a little old. I checked the bottle date and it is Best by 05/2013, a month ago. This beer was interesting and quite distinctive. I will definitely revisit this if it comes back around.

Pours a clear amber with a small white head. Smells of citrus - grapefruit and tangerine. Taste is bitter and sweet - spruce, citrus and crackers.

Weird name, right? Dark golden IPA, with a ’knot’ of hops. Hop Bomb with flavors leaning towards citrus. Medium body with a full slate of bitterness. Bold beer with a weird name from Shipyard.

Flaska på karib - tunn men ändå söt. Väldigt ipig och trevlig. Inte så veka utan där emot humlig ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A lightly hazed amber ipa with a thick frothy lacing off white head. In aroma, loads of caramel malt with piney and resinous floral hops, barley candy, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with resinous floral hops, cookie dough, nice. 500 ml can from LCBO.
