COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shipyard Monkey Fist IPA is the genesis of a new generation of IPA. The traditional elements of classic English IPA have been redefined by American craft beer innovation. Like the image suggests, Monkey Fist is edgy, aggressive, and unique in style. This beer is brilliant copper in color and exploding with Warrior, Glacier, and Cascade hop character but able to maintain a beautiful balance. Monkey Fist holds up to the spiciest foods or is delicious savored just on its own. And, in case you didn’t know, a Monkey Fist is the knot tied at the end of a sailor’s rope to serve as a weight and make it easier to throw. Cheers!

Cheers!

Clear copper pour with a decent frothy white head. Nice fruit hop aroma. Malt, fruit hop flavour, grapefruit bitter finish.

Aromas of orange peel, light biscuit. Clear, deep copper with orange highlights, and a fairly lasting white head. Dry, very citrusy, heavy flavors of orange and lime peel. Light-medium bodied.

500ml can into an English pint. Glad to have the option of a couple Shipyard products back in town. Pours a clear amber with light peripheral off-white head. Citrus hop nose, a bit more muted citrus flavour, but a bit of astringency. Bitter aftertaste. Really quite light despite the abv. Ok.

Légèrement houblonné et goût de malt caramel bien présent. Texture moyenne et un peu liquoreuse. Pas une grande bière mais accessible.

White/Beige, frothy head, fairly persistent. Amber, clear, a bit of perlage. Not very persistent and intense at nose. Citrus, orange peel, caramel, Good carbonation. Persistent bitterness lignering in the mouth.

Poured from can. Has a sweet citrus aroma. Pours a clear amber with off white head. Taste is heavy bitter. Medium body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, with a bitter finish. A nice strong IPA, a bit rough around the edges with a lingering bitterness, but that is good sometimes.

Can. Orange pour with some head. Herbal and grassy aromas. Citrus, herbal and grassy hop flavors. Not as bad as expected.

375ML split 2 ways. dark amber red, 1 finger off white head. smells like most standard IPAs. Pine, some blue cheese and bitter orange peel. Decent mouthfeel, it has a very nice sweet grapefruit taste and some blueberry. Cream like finish. Bland but overall, a solid IPA.
