puboflyons (590), New Hampshire, USA Dec 6, 2007 2007. 1 pt. 6 fl oz (US) big bottle series. Pours a handsome ruby-rusty-brown with a puffy, foamy tan head. The head lingers for most of the session. Smells a bit like honey and nuts. Hops are noticeable. Solid mouth feel and bold flavor. I notice something a little fruity. Dry after finish. This is one fine holiday brew. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA Dec 5, 2007 Punked! Bastards sold me last years version. It was refridgerated so its stil pretty good. Dark amber color, small head. Spicey aroma, maybe a little peppery. Full bodied, malty, smooth. Spices are very understated and blend well with the beer. Pretty nice. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA Dec 3, 2007 dark amber with medium dense light tan head. orange maple aromas with some chocolate and alcohol notes. medium smooth body. toffee nut and chocolare malt flavors with bitter orange peel and a spicy floral hoppiness in the background, with an alcohol finish. good, well balanced, and drinkable jrenglish86 (2), Starkville, Mississippi, USA does not count Nov 27, 2007 mahogany color w/ a tan head. really great, full-bodied taste. good finish. dlovell2 (137), Columbia, Maryland, USA Nov 25, 2007 Amber with tan head. Malty fruity aroma. Nutty, fruity, malt start with alcohol bite and hoppy finish. GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Nov 24, 2007 Pours mahogany w/ a good frothy head. Decent hangtime leaving the classic fluffy ring and canopy. Aromas of roasted nuts and molases. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers that are soft as cotton. Nutty I say, this brew is just nuts. A moderate roast and mild hopping make this brew very enjoyable. Flavors of vanilla, roasted coffee bean and cocoa push forward w/ a few stragling darkfruits. The finish is bittered nicely. This is a very enjoyable winter brew. Highly recommended. Schroedinger (1), USA does not count Nov 23, 2007 Draught at a local pizza place. Pours a lovely translucent amber with a one finger off white head. Nose of red wine and grapes, flavor transitions from an initial flavors of bitter hops and alcohol to brown sugar and caramel malt with a thin mouth feel. Alcohol is present, but not so much that it gets in the way of the other flavors. Nice strong ale, would definitely pick up a six pack of this stuff during the winter. natejgood (189), Denver, Colorado, USA Nov 22, 2007 The beer pours a redish brown color. It smells both malty and hoppy with some spices in the background. It has a grassy, bitter taste with some roasted coffee in the background. There might be a hint of citrus flavor as well. This beer has a lot of flavor for a winter/holiday beer. It’s good if you like it, but it might be a little busy for others.
