Dark amber color with a tan head. Aroma is a hint of alchol and and root beer. Flavor is subtle notes of toffee and chocolate, with a thick mouthfeel. Not a bad beer to find in a grocery store.

Excellent winter time beer. Dark reddish color with a smallish tan head. Toffee caramel taste with a hint of cognac flavors present. Hop intensive aftertaste, i’d say this is an excellent choice for a winter brew.

I have no blockbuster for 1,800, and I’m not going to make it a big deal. This one pours deep copper/ruby with aromas of caramel malt, cabernet, almonds, toffee. Tastes caramel malty, with hops, spices, toffee, and a cabernet/cognacy finish. Well hidden alcohol, but a suitably dense palate with notable complexity and balance. Nice style.

From a 22oz bomber. Pours a still traslucent red with no head. Aroma is very light but is lightly spicy. Taste is spicy. Ginger and some nutmeg. Bitter up front and then fruity and sweet. Some nice hops in the finish. Medium bodied and a bit of a sticky aftertaste. Pretty drinkable holiday brew but nothing spectacular. Solid.

Thanks to matta for the bottle! Ruby colored with a small tan head. Nose is light spice, hops, light caramel, raw nuts, and hints of alcohol. Taste is very nutty with spicy hops, creamy malts and light alcohol notes. A surprise that the alcohol comes through like this on a 6.8% beer. Light lingering hop bitterness and some mild sugary notes throughout. Body is moderately carbonated with a medium overall feel. Finishes with more spicy hops, light cocoa, nuts, and light brown sugar notes. Hint of caramel as well.

Dry roasted malt aroma like an Oktoberfest. Rich, dark amber in color, great color. Nice visible carbonation and off-white head. Great lace. Rich malty mouthfeel with some sweetness. Well balacned. Very sollid. Session qualities. Thanks matta for sending this brew.

Deep burgundy with a frothy tan head. "Sweet alcohol" in the nose. Smooth and creamy texture; has a little weight; nice carbonation level. Roasty, with a sweet caramel malt base. Other notes of nuts, light toffee, brown sugar, fruit (apples, pears, grapes) and buttered toast. Also has a curious element of vanilla and almond extracts. Finished with a little sourness and a mildish bitterness. Soft alcohol note added a nice touch. Pretty tasty beer. Thanks Matt!
