Hand-drawn at redlight redlight. Pours amber with an off-white head. Smells skunky and just not much like anything I want to put in my mouth. Out of a sense of morbid curiosity I drank it anyway. Tastes a little better but not much.

Bottle. Mahogany with a fluffy white head. Nose: piney hops , ginger and oranges. Flavor is a melange of spices and dark fruits: cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, raisons, prunes, figs and black cherries. Some nicely subdued hop flavors. Chewy palate.

Well I don’t know what all you guys were thinkin’ I think this is a very well done beer. Aroma is spices and spruce. Pours dark brown with creamy head. It starts spicy, then becomes quite malty, with a nice hop bite at the end. The spruce, spicness lingers on the finish. Very enjoyable.

12 oz. bottle from Sam’s. Ar: Up front, toffee and nutty notes. Ap: Pours a clear dark brown-copper with a nice, frothy 1" head. Great lace rings. T: Strong toffee nutty flavors. Finish has some pine, and maybe even a touch of booze. P: Creamy body, moderate carbonation. O: Pleasantly surprised with this one.

TATE (345) - Lubec, Maine, USA - JAN 30, 2011
Bottle from variety case. Not much for aroma, a faint maltiness. Pours a deep amber with a thin off white head and good carbonation. Malty at the beginning quickly overtaken by hop bitterness. A touch of a metalic taste as well. This is pretty good to have once in a while in the winter time and better on tap.

Clear brownish/red body with a cream colored head. Sweet malty aroma including brown sugar and nuts. This tastes like what I expect from an english ale. More descriptively a toffee, nutty flavor with a mild hoppy finish.

Una ale americana molto strana estrimizzata nei sapori e un po' povera di corpo e anche di profumi. Al naso note tostate ---Rated BY Italianbeer85

Punked! Bastards sold me last years version. It was refridgerated so its stil pretty good. Dark amber color, small head. Spicey aroma, maybe a little peppery. Full bodied, malty, smooth. Spices are very understated and blend well with the beer. Pretty nice.

Grandpa (327) - Verona, New York, USA - JAN 20, 2009
It poured a dark brown, clear ale, with a light tan, creamy head. A strong malt taste is followed by a balancing hop hit. A true winter seasonal, strong flavored and warming. Heavy mouthfeel with a long lasting aftertaste. Great palate with a lip-smacking, multiple mouth swallowing after each sip.

Poured with a white soapy head, an ominous sign of things to come. Something unpleasantly chemical in both the flavour and aroma - kind of pine-sol, left a detergent fealing on the tounge. Syrupy sweet. Similar to but worse than Rouge’s Santas Private Reserve.
