2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Strong floral nose that follows up with caramel, kettlecorn, and butterscotch aromas. Burgundy in color. Okay head at the beginning, but decipates rather quickly. For some reason the lacing seems to hold its own. There is a hint of spice. Starts bitter and ends sweet. Overall it is an alright beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours very very dark brown with a medium sized tan head. Smells hoppy with a bit of malt. Very wintery tasting. Roasty with hops, hints of coffee. Thick, sticky mouthfeel. Right on the mark for a winter ale, a little heavy for this time of year (late April).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Kindy of has a minty flavor to it somehow. Stong aspects of pine and maltiness some fruit and brown sugar flavors too. Overall - a good beer.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
dark brown color, initially huge froth-top turns teensy. weird sour nose, like a wet dog that rolled in something gnarly? i liked the taste though. malty and...well, sort of different. my husb tasted and said "man thatís bitter" but i disagreed (maybe iím getting to be more of a hop head?) still, it isnít what i was expecting for a special winter brew. honestly, i donít know what to expect but i want it to knock my knickers off with herbal spiciness. this was good but the knickers didnít budge.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is my second favorite Shipyard beer. my favorite is the blue fin stout. This is a very nice flavored ale with a lighter hop flavor than most of their others. but still a good flavor.

Pours a dark orange. Aroma of fresh vegetables? Starts lightly malty and finishes with a spicy hop influence. Itís a nice seasonal offering.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Just too rich for my blood. No discernable aroma. Nice ruby-read color. Strong and towards the bitter-end of balanced. Boozy. Possibly a good example of a style that I donít really like.
