Easter Sunday. 12 oz bottle. Don’t know what was wrong with the last couple rater’s bottles, but mine was just fine. I just wish I’d had it in the depths of winter.

Bottle from Keg Liquor, IN. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Good moderate complex spice and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture and soft texture. Moderate bittersweet flavor with with a moderate sweet finish of average duration. Good drinkable beer.

Tasted 2/26/08. 12oz bottle. 2006-2007 edition. Filtered and a dark bronze hue. Thick ring of taupe head. Citrus and spicy aromas. Mild malt note. Tart flavors with a good malt roast. Burnt sugar. Rough rolling palate. Good hop bitterness. Toasty spicy with a cocoa flavor. Off-putting alcohol note. Sticky with a cola and mint undertone. B- beer.

Bottle from BevMo. Mahogany with a fluffy white head. Nose: piney hops , ginger and oranges. Flavor is a melange of spices and dark fruits: cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, raisins, prunes, figs and black cherries. Some nicely subdued hop flavors. Chewy palate.

Draught. Nose is sweet, light malts. Beautiful clear amber colored beer. Flavor is a little lacking, just muddled sweetness. Palate is a bit thin, leaving something to be desired.
