Holy Sh...... Shipyard. THis is one fine pumpkin beer. I guess I just like pumpkin beer and I dont mind that it tastes mild and weak compaired to some of my favorite beers. The taste was very pleasant and left me with the feeling of eating some of grandma’s sweet pumkin pie. After sticking my tongue as far as I could down the bottle I decided I need to take a six pack of these to the beach this weekend. Dont fear the pumpkin beer. And dont forget when the beer is finished make sure you have some Big Red to hide the scent.

Tranfer from BA review on 8-30-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a light orange amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a fairly good level of retention leaving some foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is a nice mix of spice of cinnamon, coriander and clove with a decent roasted pumpkin aroma giving a moderately strong spiced like smell to the brew overall. Along with these smells comes a light amount of brown sugar and caramel, which combined with the rest to produce a rather nice pumpkin pie like smell. Taste – The taste begins with a big spicy flavor of cinnamon and a bit of nutmeg with a decent showing of roasted pumpkin and caramel. The spice stays very strong throughout the taste with a bit of allspice going the profile. Along with this, the roasted pumpkin fades a bit giving a bit of a more “raw” pumpkin flavor to sit on the tongue. Some brown sugar as well as some flavors of a grassy and somewhat herbal flavor is left comes at the end, leaving a rather strong, very spiced ,pumpkin flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on very thin with a carbonation level that is average. For the tastes of the brew a high carbonation level and /or a thicker body would have been better for accentuated the roasted pumpkin over that of the grassy, overly spiced, and “raw” tastes of the beer. Overall – Ah just OK in the pumpkin brew category.

Clear, light gold pour with a thin, white head. It has a pleasant pumpkin spice aroma that doesn’t overdo it. The light body is crisp and refreshing with a mildly sweet taste.

Pours a clear gold amber with a minimal white head. Smells of pumpkin, nutmeg, wheat bread. Taste is sweet and spiced, mildly bitter. Real Pumpkin with nutmeg cinnamon pie spices. A little bit clingy aftertaste.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass. Pale yellow color with very little head. The beer has a lot of flavor to it: mostly cinnamon and vanilla tones. Unfortunately, very little if any pumpkin taste to this one. Not a lot of body to this beer, overall I was pretty disappointed as I was looking for a good pumpkin beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear, deep gold with a high, fine-grained, off-white, lacy head. Nose is yeast, cinnamon, nutmeg, and some adjunct and creamed corn. More cinnamon on the nose -- really overwhelming, almost into cinnamon-toast land. There is some pumpkin flavor there as well. Finish is long and a little fake-cinnamon-candy. It’s all right, but the fauxnamon really overshadows anything else. I think that someone needs to look up the word ’subtle’ in the dictionary again.

Very nice. For 2014, the ABV is 4.5%. The flavor suggests otherwise. Beautiful nutmeg and pumpkin-oriented notes. A great session pumpkin ale.

Pours a lighter amber color with off-white head. Some pumpkin pie spice on the nose with a weird note I can’t place; same for the palate. Not very well done IMHO.

"Subtle spiced flavor" my ass. Big cinnamon and vanilla notes. Nothing really pumpkin about it, other than I suppose it reminds me slightly of pumpkin pie. Largely meh.

Served on draft at Buffalo Brew Pub (Buffalo NY). Light appearance with thin, quickly dissipating head. All spice on the nose; very little pumpkin aroma. Tastes like a pumpkin pie candle smells - not natural at all. Extremely thin body, crackly carbonation. This is not a good example of a pumpkin ale, and I do not recommend it.

Tap... with cinnamon rim (don’t judge me). Needs it to be honest. Nice darkish orange-amber, nice head... but almost thin body with supremely mild taste.
