COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smashed Blueberry is the newest beer in Shipyard Brewing Company’s Pugsley’s Signature Series line. This beer is a hybrid between a Porter and a Scotch Ale and has a rich mouth feel and a body of complex intensity. Upfront, there are distinct flavors of coffee and chocolate beautifully accentuated by the aroma of fresh blueberries. The finish features a delicate balance of sweet fruit and dry hops. This beer pairs well with glazed duck, ribs, barbeque, chocolate, and blueberry deserts. To fully experience all the flavors, Smashed Blueberry is best drunk at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Aroma: Blueberry, alcohol, cocoa powder, musty malts
Appearance: Opaque black with short lasting khaki head
Taste: Burst of fresh blueberry, mostly sweet
Palate: Blueberry lasts well through the finish leaving a pleasant berry aftertaste
Overall: Pleasantly surprised at how well the blueberry flavor holds up against the porter/dark malts. The berry is not subtle, but also not overbearing or artificial.

Surprisingly dark and thick. Smells like blueberry pancakes. The blueberry taste overtakes this beer as the sip fades the beer comes back in to the picture.

Bottle forms Spirits Lacey. Pours out a well carbonated black color with some hues of purple. Aroma is of intense fresh blueberries, light semi-sweet chocolate, and some mild bitterness. Taste is complex, fresh blueberries, intensity is more muted than the aroma, but still there. Some baker’s chocolate, light earthy medium roast coffee, and mild sweetness mixed with light tart blueberry and bitterness. Tasty beer.

It poured a dark brown color with a small white head. The aroma was largely of blueberries with hints of coffee and dark candy malt. The taste was interesting with some smoke, blueberries, hints of coffee, chocolate and sweet belgian malts. Tasty.

This blueberry beer certainly smells the part but the taste is hidden by a chocolaty roasted hoppy flavor. Not exactly what i was expecting but more than decent overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark blue/brown with a beige head that quickly receeds to the edge of the glass. Aroma is blueberries! Wow. The blueberry promise of the aroma is hidden a bit in the taste. It’s got dark malt and some hop bitter. The blueberry is there, but takes a back seat. A fruit beer for people who don’t like fruit in their beer?

Dark red purple color. Rich sweet blueberry malt aroma. Roasted malt and blueberry taste with little hints of hoops. Medium full body. Perfectly balanced flavored beer. Sweet and strong. Wonderful mix of flavors. One of the best flavored beers I’ve had.

Pours a brownish black from the bomber with thin ring of tan lace that sticks lightly. Aroma is blueberries and chocolate, flavor is more of the blueberries but a hint of roasted make and dark chocolate. Thin, not too sweet, booze catches up with you. Much better than I expected.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a white wine glass. Pours black with small light brown head. Some lacing, thick body, medium carbonation, and beautiful blueberry aroma. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, some blueberry, and some herbal hops. Pretty dry and salty. An imperial porter with some blueberries. Pretty good, but expected more.
