COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smashed Blueberry is the newest beer in Shipyard Brewing Company’s Pugsley’s Signature Series line. This beer is a hybrid between a Porter and a Scotch Ale and has a rich mouth feel and a body of complex intensity. Upfront, there are distinct flavors of coffee and chocolate beautifully accentuated by the aroma of fresh blueberries. The finish features a delicate balance of sweet fruit and dry hops. This beer pairs well with glazed duck, ribs, barbeque, chocolate, and blueberry deserts. To fully experience all the flavors, Smashed Blueberry is best drunk at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Bomber from BevMo. Very dark on the pour. Roast nose. Some blueberry and chocolate. Almost a whiskey quality. Roasted coffee with a little bit of sweetness. Some hoppiness in the finish. Tastes like a fairly robust porter with a little touch of blueberry sweetness.

Bomber. Pours a dark brownish burgundy color with a thin cap of light brown foam. Aroma is an onslaught of blueberry dessert sweetness with notes of dark chocolate and caramel malt. The taste starts out with bittersweet chocolate, espresso and roasted malt flavors before the blueberry returns in full force. Also a bit of toffee, alcohol and herbal hops in the mix. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation and a bittersweet, roasty finish. As expected, the coffee and chocolate notes blend really well with the blueberry flavors. Definitely one of the top berry beers around and a good brew to finish off a holiday meal.

Passed this up for at least a year. Upon opening was a big hit of nice fresh blueberries.Dark brown color with a swirly thin head. I would swear it has a deep purple in this dark brown ale. This beer reaks of blueberry. With sweet malt and slight dry alcohol. Carmelly Chocolate blueberry in a malty balanced porter/scotch style base, this works well and is complexly good.Very nice grape blueberry tones with carmel malt/chocolate malt, not sweet,There is also vanilla tones maybe from the carmel.Which sucker me in to taste. This is nice, wish I had tried it sooner,I will definatly be picking these up more in the future.I kinda feel like I just had blueberry pie, this is as good as smashed pumpkin maybe better than that. Quite surprised how good this is.This works!
