COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smashed Blueberry is the newest beer in Shipyard Brewing Company’s Pugsley’s Signature Series line. This beer is a hybrid between a Porter and a Scotch Ale and has a rich mouth feel and a body of complex intensity. Upfront, there are distinct flavors of coffee and chocolate beautifully accentuated by the aroma of fresh blueberries. The finish features a delicate balance of sweet fruit and dry hops. This beer pairs well with glazed duck, ribs, barbeque, chocolate, and blueberry deserts. To fully experience all the flavors, Smashed Blueberry is best drunk at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. ’Paul takes a brown shower’ tasting at Bruce’s pad. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Big blueberry nose. Palate is softish and dry. Brown malts, feels like a Scottish ale. Mild tangy blueberry, much less intense than the nose. Dry creamy malt finish. Hangs together okay. A bit different.

Tasting at Papsø’s
Black color with medium sized brownish head. The aroma is upfront yeasty and feety; a bit cheesy and fruity later. Dark artificial vanilla chocolate flavor and blueberries; overly bitter: very disgusting.
It has correct bitterness and evident alcohol.
Bad.

Dark almost opaque black color, small beige head. Strong tasty aroma of blueberries, some toasted maltyness, maybe chocolate. Medium to full-bodied. Sticky palate. Tasty fresh blueberry flavor, some caramel, toasted maltyness and chocolate. Suprisingly good and balanced beer from Shipyard.
