COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smashed Pumpkin is a big-bodied beer with a light coppery orange color and pleasing aroma of pumpkin and nutmeg. The OG and final Alc./Vol. provide the structure and body. Pale Ale, Wheat and Light Munich Malts combine with the natural tannin in pumpkin and the delicate spiciness of Willamette and Hallertau Hops to balance the sweetness of the fruit. To fully enjoy all the flavors, this ale is best drunk at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Smashed Pumpkin pairs well with sharp cheeses, nuts, lamb, hearty stews and desserts like flan or pumpkin pie. Chefs find this an excellent beer to cook with in dishes such as braised short ribs.

As far as pumpkin beers go this one is a win in my book. The first time i cracked one oF these guys open i was amazed at how they got the flavor of pumpkin pie without using pumpkIn at all. Forward two years later, i grab the 2010 out of the cellar. Same pumpkin smell richer spice flavor. For me this is an amazing transfermation. The allspice fills the palate, followed by a nutmeg malt that lingers with the heat of cinnamon on the tongue for a long lasting finish. Fresh or two years old, this beer is worth the $ $ billz ya’ll!

22oz purchased in California. Pours cloudy copper with medium head that fades quickly. Nose has slight oxidative note that clears in a bit. Spices dominate the ale underneath, but malt eventually appears. Hop notes are well matched to malt bill and stand up to spices. Not a big fan of any spiced pumpkin brews, but this is a well done example

Hazy amber color, medium sized white head. Spicy aroma, caramel, some malty sweetness, resin. Taste of caramel, pumpkin, spices, lots of sugar, some cinnamon notes. Creamy texture, medium body, soft carbonation. Extremely long spicy caramel and pumpkin finish. Alcohol is very well hidden. This was my first pumpkin beer ever, it was really hard to even think about what to expect, but I could get used to them real quick.

Old rating. Disappointing pumpkin beer....lots of nutmeg and spices. Decently sweet and malty. Just generic boring pumpkin beer.

An enjoyable beer I picked up in Boston. Definitely worthwhile to try, but not a standout in the pumpkin beer category.

Bombré; poured an orange Amber color with an off white head. Aroma of rotten veggies, spices and booze. A pretty spicy upfront with a doze of sweetness. Lingering finish. A bit medicinal

Bottled 650ml. -at O’Hara Zagreb. Golden coloured, minimal white head, light perfumy nose. Sweet malty, alcoholic, unbalanced presence of cinnamon and sugar with some caramel in rather sweet and sticky finish. Not my type.

As orange a color as I’ve seen in a beer, this pours with quickly faded head. Immediate traditional pumpkin spices on the nose - pretty close to the pie I love! Flavor/mouth-fee is quite a ride... initial pumpkin quickly turns to burst of yeasty, slightly sour alcoholic funk, which in turn, quickly dissolves to a clean finish and lasting mellow aftertaste.

Bold pumpkin flavor with a ton of nutmeg, perhaps too much. Thick head, assertive spicyness lingers.
