2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A - Pours a cloudy gold with a dense white head with great retention.
S - Lemon Citrus grain, wheat, husk, pale malt.
T - Lemon, wheat, pale malts, twangy husk, water apples.
This is a lackluster summer ale. It is more of an American pale wheat. It is far from an APA. An okay beer. Watered down and thin with a touch of sweetness.
Serving type: on-tap

No head retention whatsoever. Very thin body. Other than that it’s a very pleasant beer. Lemon and grass in the taste. I’m currently enjoying this on the beach and could probably do so all day long.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a clear golden colored body with a solid white two finger head that leaves some spotty lacing. Some carbonation was seen rising slowly. The head dissipates to a small bubble after about three minutes. No rings were left.
The smell was based around the grain, some corn adjuncts come out with a tad of citrus ever so lightly in the background.
The taste was bland but there were some slight hints of citrus and hops. The finish was slightly bitter.
On the palate, it sat light, watery with some carbonation felt, sessionable.
Overall, well, I thought I liked this beer before, but realized this wasn’t as good as I thought. It could have just been a bad brew.

More in the Belgian than the German wheat beer style, this is a commendable effort by the people at the Shipyard Brewery. True to Belgian style, it smells of coriander and citrus, and is slightly sweet and yeasty. With what you might call a ’well-rounded’ mouthfeel, this is a very nice beer. As for the artwork: a lobster in a deckchair?

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Wheaty aroma has a yeasty overtone and floral hints. Pours a clear solar yellow with a decent but not too persistent white head. Flavor is wheaty, a little yeasty, with again that floral touch. Texture has about average fizziness and body, not bold but not watery. Refreshing and summery, if not outstanding - have one while passing the time on a sweltering day.

On tap at The Wharf. Pours a light copper color with a thin white head. Some fruity aroma. Taste is somewhat forgettable, some esters that come in about all of Shipyard’s ales with a bit of fruityness and a little bite at the end.
