Bright clear gold beer, tiny white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Fine carbonation. Light pale malts, a touch grainy. Very mild bubblegum ester. Apologetic citrus, barely there. Light semi dry finish. Dull.

Draft at Portland lobster company. Wheat and a touch of lemon. Pretty bland and plain but, fine with a bunch of seafood. Ok overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, best before December 2014, poured into a weizen glass. Clear golden with small white head. Aroma is nice malty grain, medium/light body, lighter carbonation, and some small bubble lacing. Taste is grain and some crisp hops. Sort of in between a kristalweizen and a pilsner, but just average.

Tried this while on vacation in Maine. Wanted to try something that I don’t get at home. I must admit that I was attracted to the label. It was a nice beer, not outstanding, but a good drink after a hard day of tourist type stuff.

Has fairly full flavor for a lighter summer ale, but has a bit of a barnyard funk aroma and taste. Almost a cheap taste to it. Not bad, would drink again but not buy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. can. Lightly hazy orange-amber with a lasting film of cream on top. Nose is caramel with some orange, banana and resin. Taste has the fruity English Ale taste I get with every other Shipyard brew I’ve had - twangy, floral-spiced orange toffee and mildly tart apple. This one also has some toast, a wooden bitterness and maybe a touch of banana. Light-medium body has a pleasant, average level of carbonation and a good balance.

Tap at a bar in Portland. Yellow. A loght wheat ale. Some sugar and a little lemon. A light summer American style wheat.

12oz bottle at a backyard party. Nose has some mild spice, mild sweetness, fruit too. A bit trashy. Flavor is the same, a bit too sweet, not enough bitterness to round it out. Straw, honeysuckle. Watery finish.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass - Appearance – The beer pours a golden color with a two finger head of pure white foam and tons of tiny carbonation bubbles seen streaming up through the clear body. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading to leave a heavy level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is biggest of a caramel smell along with a bready and wheaty smell. Along with these aromas are some lighter notes of a light fruit aroma of some orange and a bit of pear and apple. Taste – The taste begins a wheat bready flavor mixed with lots of caramel sweetness. As the taste advances the breadiness dwindles ever so slightly being replaced by a lighter cracker taste. Along with the change in the bready flavors, the caramel changes as well with it losing ground and being replaced by some orange and a hint of grapefruit hop. With a light flavor of an herbal hop nature joining in at the end of the taste, one is left with a very lightly hopped, moderately sweeter bready flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to slightly thicker side for a summer style ale with a carbonation level that is average to just below average. While it looked like it would have had tons of carbonation it didn’t feel like it, with a more effervescent feel likely being better for creating a more refreshing summer style ale. Overall – An OK summer ale. It’s pretty easy drinking and non-offensive, a brew that most anyone would drink making it good for large summer style gatherings.
