COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Shipyard Wheat Ale is a very intriguing beer. Immediately upon opening the bottle you smell the hop characteristics, which is a little unexpected in a wheat beer and is one of the qualities that sets this beer apart," said sales and marketing manager Bruce Forsley. "Based on feedback we’ve received from customers, there is a desire for lower alcohol session style ales that do not sacrifice flavor, and this beer hits the mark.

...had it on tap and in the bottle. Weak, watery, no good flavors. No head, light yellow piss color. Faint hops and cardboard, give it up.

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of wheat, bread and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of wheat, light straw and light citrus with a crisp dry finish.

Bottle from the variety case. Aroma is malty and yeast. Pours a golden color with a thin off white head with lots of carbonation. This is a pretty light beer. The mouthfeel is thin. The beginning is thin and watery with a hint of hop bitterness at the end. This is apparently a lower alcohol session beer that would be good on a hot day.

Good but not great. A nice hoppy-wheat aroma that isn’t over powering. Taste is similar, more on the wheat side. Fairly linear all around, nothing terribly groundbreaking. A good beer, but nothing I’d go out of my way to pick up.

Had on Tap @ Sunset Grill on 12/ 13/ 2010. Pored a hazy yellow. Left almost no lacing with small off white head. More of a bready, malty aroma than wheat, although there is a hint. There’s a bit more wheat character than in the Summer Ale, which also claims to be a wheat. Overall, ok, Nothing to get excited for. It is a decent light beer.

Pours cloudy yellow-orange with billowy white head. The aroma is weird--very musky with orange peel, lemon zest-- very citrus-y with a touch of grass. Palate is a bit thin, with wheat and light citrus notes. Wheat-y, almost sweet finish. This beer is solidly average.

Pours clear deep gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes leaving no lacing. Mild wheat aromas. Crisp with very slight metallic upfront and an ever so slight wheaty finish.

12oz bottle pours clear pure copper with light tan head. The mild aroma works hard to offer up just a sense of malts, grains and caramely butterscotch. The taste is thin with light sessionable watery flavor notes. I get mild vague hoppiness moving into malts then caramel then a light amount of buttered bread. It gets a little spiced apple just as a brief thin pulse heading into the after taste.

The aroma is weak and not very wheat like but does have some to go along with malt and light hops. It also seems a bit buttery and citrusy. The appearance is golden with a medium head that fades fast. The taste is like the aroma with a clean but slightly malty finish. The palate is typical for the style. Overall an inoffensive and forgettable beer that is too weak to be distinctive.

Great aroma. Kind of a hot beer in both taste and palate. Horrible in a bottle. Pretty good in a glass. A decent beer for the money.
