XXXX IPA is a non-traditional American IPA with a brilliant copper color and the classic citrus nose of Cascade hops. This beer demonstrates a unique balance of malt-inspired, delicate red grapefruit sweetness and lingering hop dryness. The OG and final Alc./Vol. provide the structure and body to balance the harmony of distinct flavors.Cascade, Warrior,Summit and Glacier hops are used for bittering and Cascade hops are added for dry hopping after fermentation. This hop blend is well balanced with malted wheat, pale ale, crystal, and caramel malts. To full enjoy all the flavors, this ale is best drunk at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. This beer pairs well with Cajun dishes, blackened fish, and BBQ. XXXX draws its name from the British brewing convention of using X’s to denote style. 70 BU,s, 1.092 OG. 22 Plato

Rated on 9-25-2009 at Fort Wayne, IN Gathering. This beer pours a small head with a good retention, transparent orange body, spotty amounts of lacing, and no visible carbonation. The Aroma is malty, yeast, citrus, grapefruit, and earthy hops. The Taste is bitter, malty, earthy, and grapefruit hops. The Palate is lively and this beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this beer is not very hoppy tasting for the style which was quite surprising. The ABV is well masked and it made for an easy drinking beer. This beer is just ok overall. I did not find any WOW factor to it.

Amber coloured and faint hazy. Has an off-white head, medium duration. Heavy sweet and hoppy aroma, almost like a barley-wine. Citrus and herbs. Flavor starts heavy sweet, warming alcohol. Heavy bitter finish.

Has the color of apple cider; a copper amber. Pretty weak hop taste which wasn’t enough for me.

A little flat. Left me wanting more hops. Aroma is good. Color is good, but a little weak for a double. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle into a tulip. Pours a syrupy cascade of dark amber and medium bodied brown ale. Head is about 1cm large and lingers a bit with small islands. Froth is not an issue, but the lacing on the glass is great. Aroma is grainy, couch medicine, maple syrup likeness, bountiful gumdrops of all colors, and an interesting mix of the hops and bittering malts, which gives a sweet, sticky feel on the mouth, very fluid and dense and thick going down. Looks the same in the glass. Not an overally hoppy brew one would expect, but a solid bump up from a standard ipa no doubt. Abv can be felt in the aftertaste, but not an issue at all. This ones a banger.

Dark amber with a light white head. Aroma is subtle citrus. Bready, malty and lemony with bitter hops. Not my favorite high octane IPA ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Deep copper color with large foamy head. Definitely well hopped as promised. With 9.25% ABV, one bottle goes a long way.

Aroma is slightly hopped but mostly musty. Appearance is a good ipa color but with a smallish head. Taste is sweet and hopped with some zest. Palate is thick from sweetness, which makes it hard to drink except in small quantities. Good thick ipa without overpowering hop character.
