3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Apperance: Amberish-golden with a creamy head and lots of lacing.
Aroma: Citric notes, Caramel, Pine and a touch of alcohol.
Flavor: Caramel, Malt, Citric notes, Alcohol, Biscuits, Pine.
Palate: Body is quite thin with a medium carbonation. A very balanced brew where both hops and malt are allowed to play togheter.
Certainly not the best DIPA i’ve had but it’s easily the best beer produced by Shipyard. Very quaffable for such a strong beer and just very likeable. Sweet!

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
shipyard gets a lot of harsh treatment from beer snobs so this offering to more refined drinkers is a hard sell to some but I find this to be a big alcohol beer with still lots of easy drinking appeal. The deep copper color and strong head gives a good appearance. The pine forest smell is typical and carries into the taste along with a slight grapefruit touch. It finishes fairly quickly and does not have an over done bitter flavor so common in the style. Not the best imperial IPA but it was enjoyed.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a deep amber with a medium head. Aroma is a mix of hops and malt with a note of alcohol. Flavor follows the aroma except the alcohol taste is significantly stronger. I get notes of pine and resin. Note too bitter but does finish as I would expect. Mouth feel is a bit heavy but not too much so. Overall not bad at all, but I’d hope so since the guy’s signature is on the label.

22 oz bottle. Pours a copper color, like a new penny, with a 1/2" off white head.Spotty lacing. Aroma is citrus and malt. Thick, substantial palate. Flavor is pine hops balanced with sweet malt . Also, notes of many citrus flavors and spices. Very enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Reddish-amber beer with a cream colored head. Grapefruit and light caramel aroma. Caramel, grapefruit, and light pine flavor. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Caramel, grapefruit, and light pine linger. More like a hoppy barleywine.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized head. Aroma is malty hops, some alcohol and grass as well as some slight spices notes. Flavour is quite much the same, but has some slight glueish notes disturbing the otherwise nice while. Seems like the Pugleys Signature Series are actually very nice and interesting compared to Shipyards "normal" beers.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The beer pours a bright, clear medium amber with an excellent head that fades into a healthy blanked of foam. There are some nice hops in the nose, but I feel underwhelmed and have to judge the beer against its style. The hops provide bitterness but the hop flavor isn’t so good. The hop flavor that does exist is piney and somewhat catty. It also doesn’t punch enough in the finish and ends on the watery side. It’s quite dry, which I generally like, and the pine flavor and bitterness level of the hops is good. At any rate, it’s an ok DIPA and a pretty good beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 650ml (at Chriso)
Clear amber color, not much head. Woody-fruity Cascade aroma in the nose. Very fruity flavor: pine, resin and honey. Quite soft bitterness. Lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. I had to say that I am suprised to get such a good beer from Shipyard.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours clear copper with an average, creamy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (meal, straw, cookie), heavy hop (citrus, flowers, pine), average yeast (sweat) with notes of peach, apricot, pineapple, and pear. Full bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear amber with tan head. Aroma of mild of malt, hop, alcohol. Then woooooosh. Flavor improves on the aroma exponentially. Aroma is much more complex and full-bodied. A pleasant surprise!
