22 oz bottle..super clear deep copper pour.decent off white head ,sparse sticky lacing.sweet fruit aroma with a touch of citrus hops.initial sweet caramel malt flavor gives way to a decent level of bitterness.medium in body and carbonation.alcohol is present but far from overpowering.very nice but I would prefer a bigger hop nose in a DIPA

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I got something reserved and attractive here. It’s maybe less alcoholic than the 9.25% the label claims or hides it well. Floral, rosy and citric hops sits atop slightly sweet dense caramel malt flavors. Points for holding back on the sweet, having enough but not too much (especially syrupy) body and avoiding the hop bomb. The question becomes: where is the double IPA besides the alcohol? This is the hot librarian of DIPAs.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Impressive head that starts five fingers thick. Recedes in a rocky fashion slowly leaving ample chunky lace markings on the glass. Attractive copper colored liquid with the slightly amount of haze.
Mild hop nose given that it is DIPA. Kudos for the balance. Attractive pine hop plug aroma with some crystal malt sweetness in the background.
Brief round, sweet malt flavor that is immediately driven away by the hop bomb...as to be expected. Above average body with decent carbonation. The malt shows up again in the swallow, followed by another blast of hop bitterness. True to style, form and taste; on the edge of extreme.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours orange amber with an off white head. Citric, piny hop aroma with sweet malt and candied caramel. The flavor starts with some sweeter citric hops and some sweet malts and ends with bitter floral hops. Pretty good.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Bev 4 Less: Created a thick frothy heading while the liquid was a reddish orange hue. The aroma is sweet apricot fruit and orange citrus hop combination while allowing room for malts to be put into effect as well. Flavors are tart and bitter with only the sweetest amount of malts coming through the thick chewy apricot hop foundation. Not the most pleasant drink but at least it packs an ABV kick that relaxes me to further drink the rest of the bottle.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours brilliantly clear copper with nice off white head. The modest aroma has notes of citrus and hoppy spice to go along with malts, caramel and a tad bit of butterscotch. The mouth feel is chewy allowing time for deep flavor contemplation. I get a load of late addition hop flavor from grapefruit, orange peel and tangelo. By midway the citrus hops grow from hop flavor to a moderate level of hop bitterness with grapefruit as well as pine mixing with sweet malts, mildly roasty malts and a touch of caramel or toffee or butterscotch or something. It ends with lingering hop bitterness and mild to faint dry roasted malts. Very tasty and very easy drinking brew.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ultra-fresh bomber. Pours mostly clear with a very slight haze, dark orange-amber in color. A dense, lasting head of spongy, beige tinted foam is quite attractive. Thick clumps of cloud-like lacing cling hard to the glass. Surprisingly, the first note to hit the nose is of big, sweet, honey-kissed grain. Hoppy citrus notes come through in the form of phenolic orange liquor, hot and alcoholic, lagging behind the big, syrupy malts. Flavors are equally disappointing, saccharine and boozy. Stale, wet cereal grains dominate floral and citrus hop bitterness. The palate is big, syrupy, and sticky, not to mention downright hot and astringent. Another major disappointment from Shipyard. Bad brew.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
The aroma is quite nice with lots of citrus and pine hops. There is also plenty of caramel malt to balance. The appearance is amber with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma with a bitter finish. The palate is smooth but not thick. Overall this is a good beer.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very good, the aroma is actually kinda of bland, but the taste brings a strong citrus flavor and sharp malts all around. ever faithful to the style, and definitely one worth trying.
