COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
XXXX IPA is a non-traditional American IPA with a brilliant copper color and the classic citrus nose of Cascade hops. This beer demonstrates a unique balance of malt-inspired, delicate red grapefruit sweetness and lingering hop dryness. The OG and final Alc./Vol. provide the structure and body to balance the harmony of distinct flavors.Cascade, Warrior,Summit and Glacier hops are used for bittering and Cascade hops are added for dry hopping after fermentation. This hop blend is well balanced with malted wheat, pale ale, crystal, and caramel malts. To full enjoy all the flavors, this ale is best drunk at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. This beer pairs well with Cajun dishes, blackened fish, and BBQ. XXXX draws its name from the British brewing convention of using X’s to denote style. 70 BU,s, 1.092 OG. 22 Plato

Hand pull at redlight redlight. pours kind of a golden amber. really good nose that is both hoppy with some grassy citrus aromas and a realy malty casky scent as well. the flavor is not as exciting but still pretty decent with an excellent bittersweetness that is very reminiscent of the britishe isles. one of the best from the shipyard boys.

This beauty pours a dark murky orange with a nice beige head. Aroma is of pine, resin, toffee, grapefruit, and caramel. Definitely tastes the booze in this boy. Tastes of strong toffee and caramel malts with powerful pine, and bitter grapefruit. Quite a full bodied syrupy mouth feel with warming alcohol feeling. Has kind of a boozy bitter finish, which I welcome during the Winter months.

Hazy copper color with a decent white head. Dark caramel nose with some hops. You also get some dark fruits like prunes and raisins. You also get some Spruce notes, A bit creamy mouthfeel. You feel a bit of the alcool and then there’s the long hoppy finish.

Coloração caramelo alaranjado típico das imperial IPA, com espuma bege de média persistência. Aroma de malte, caramelo, pão e levemente lupulado. No sabor sobressai o caramelo. Não percebi cítrico. Bom corpo, álcool perceptível mas bem inserido. Boa imperial IPA.

Pours a nice med dark orange ,opaque, thick white head. Aroma- citrus, floral, nothing overpowering to the nose. Taste- light sweetness, lightly bitter, once again nothing overpowering Palate- medium body, sticky, average carbonation, light bitterness, Overall- Nothing stands out quite easy to drink.

22oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber-red color with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma is hoppy with caramel and toffee notes and a bit of spiciness. Grapefruit flavors are first to hit the palate. A bit of maltiness and some alcohol warming round out the finish. This is more along the lines of a hoppy barleywine than a Double IPA. I enjoyed it.

Rusted copper pour with an eggshell head that doesn’t leave much lace. There’s a lot of raisin and prune on the nose here with some dank spruce notes. The same can be said of the palate. I’d have guessed this was old as shit but the BB date is June 2015. This stuff drinks like a light barleywine. Decent enough but godawful if we’re talking style.

12oz brown bottle. A clear orange pour, head is tan. Some ok looking lacing. Hoppy nose, big citrus peels, some caramel notes. Taste has caramel and toffee sweet malts, zippy citrus hops. Finishes with lingering caramel, pine, orange peels, a little alcohol and a grapefuity bite. Medium level of bitterness. Overall, an alright double IPA, not very agressive, drinkable and balanced for it’s size, better than I was expecting actually. From The Shipyard IPA mixed pack.

355ml bottle pours a golden amber color with a finger of white head that settles to leave some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and fruits with some citrus highlights. Taste is a citrus and pine hop bitterness with a nice caramel and grainy malt sweetness. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. A pretty nice DIPA that is balanced and tasty. Recommended.
