3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
From can. Pour is a hazy yellow with a big white head. Aroma of bananas and bubble gum. Taste is bananas, bubble gum, Belgian yeast, and fruity. Sweet. Soft carbonation and medium mouthfeel. Sweet finish with only a hint of bitterness. Nice. Enjoyed in Narita, Japan. Bought from a Lawson’s convenience store.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can. Had this many times, never got around to rating it. nice wit nose, very citrusy, with lemon and orange notes, wheat, coriander. Bready and rich. Typical cloudy pale gold-yellow with a low head. Sweet, fruity, spicy, wheat. Very typical. Refreshing, a bit too sweet and cakey, but decent, and better then the bigger import from Belgium that is now everywhere. Decent price too.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Orange, pepper aromas. Mild cereal bread, lemon, watery finish. Fairly boring attempt to a white, specially considering it is order-made in Belgium for that Japanese brand.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale yellow body, white head. Faint aroma of citrus with some wheat. Medium bodied, taste is not that strong. Mostly sweet with very slight bitter edge to it. Soft mouthfeel and light carbonation. Decent witbier although I’m not a fan of the style.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can. Not much aroma, but not too much fizz either, which was a relief. Taste was a watered down version of a standard Belgian white- orange peel, touch of coriander. Not much going on, but refreshing enough. Looked better than it tasted.

Lata. Hazy like yellow colour, white medium head. Aroma of yeast, some fruit and plenty of lemon. Sweet. Ok mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, has yeast, lemon indeed, some fruit, bit spice. Sweet.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
330 ml can from a bottle shop in Shinjuku. Looks OK in the glass, with a pale body topped by a sudsy white head. Floaties are evident via the lively carbonation. However, there’s then the weird lemony nose, followed by a first taste that reeks of lemonade. As it calms down a bit though, there’s more of a crisp/bitter note towards the end. Finishes quite clean. Apart however from a hint of cloves, the traditional Belgian wit characteristics are missing. I suspect this is a wit as interpreted for the Japanese palate.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
This kind of tastes like fruit loops and bubble gum but seems to at least use a Belgian yeast. Reminds me of those Leinenkugel’s goofy fruit beers.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Canned. Hazy pale yellow, creamy head. Aroma of lemon and lemon peel. Sweet and fruity with medium body and mushy, un-firm mouthfeel. Lemon peels and boiled vegetables. Lemonady finish.
