Bought this on a cruise because it was $9 in a world where a Bud Light costs $7. Pours slightly yellow, like urine if you’re fairly well hydrated. Aroma is cheap vodka, sour grapes, and rice water. Taste is abysmally bad when chilled, blandly harsh when room temperature, and barely okay to swallow when warmed. When warmed, tastes like apple juice mixed with the water left over after cooking rice... plus some Popov-grade vodka. My wife would have nothing to do with it, and I don’t rember how I finished the bottle. For the price, I guess this is good if you like sake, but I learned the hard way that I do not. This is better than Gekkeikan, at least.

22.04.2016, 0,75l bottle sampled @ Ichiban, Zachariasbryggen, served warm:
Almost completely clear, just a tiny hint of hay colored. Aroma is mild ricy, with some hints of minerals, yeast and alcohol, hints of citrus. Taste is slightly dry, hay, rice, yeast, minerals, paper, hints of citrus. Slightly dry mineraly mouthfeel. Not bad, just boring.

330 ml bottle at The Fish Houston. White wine clear booze. Never sure what I’m looking for in sake.

180 ml. bottle. Funny stumpy medicinal looking bottle with a twist-cap. As “Takara Sho Chiku Bai Classic Junmai Sake”. 15 % ABV. I assume that this is the correct entry. Totally clear water appearance. Nose is sweet, mild sake alcohol, light sugar, some faint plastic, very mild smell, tad watery despite the ABV. Taste is mildly herbal, touch licorice, sweat, a bit watery despite the ABV, plain rice, light odd plastic flavors, faint quinine,… Overall a touch watery, light unpleasant plastic note, something herbal & hard to note takes it bit down. Something touch odd, touch watery despite the ABV. Unpleasant note gets this one down but overall I still clearly have issues rating Sake, I am not the biggest fab, I have had very little examples & I don’t understand what is what.

Bottle 180ml. Pours translucid with some legs. Rainbows. Aroma is of alcohol, ink-wet paper. Taste is of alcohol, weird/rotten bread, vegetal, nuts. Palate: Medium body. Hard to tell. No carbonation. Overall: Well I don’t really know Sake, so it’s hard to rate. I sure dont like this one.
