fidelis83 (707), Clinton, Iowa, USA Apr 21, 2009 Pours milky yellow with a 3 finger foamy white head that fades pretty quickly to a skim and holds pretty well. Aroma is weak orange juice, sour grain and vegetal notes. Flavor is much the same, though the vegetal notes are stronger. One of the worst belgian whites I have ever had. Oscbert (531), Sacramento, California, USA Apr 19, 2009 ~Pours a non uniformed cloudy orange color with quick disappearing head.
~Scent of oranges. Similar to a watered down orange juice with wheat.
~Wheaty orange flavor. A little too much orange. Almost like a candy orange.
~Medium to creamy feel. Strange lingering aftertaste like frozen concentrated orange juice.
~Decent summer brew. Just a little orangy for my liking. arventresca (334), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Apr 17, 2009 Tap. Pours orangish and had an orange in it. This is A-B’s attempt at Blue Moon. WHile it is drinkable it is just too sweet and bland for my palate. While I commend A-B for thinking outside the box, this one doesn’t quite make the grade. ben4321 (957), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 13, 2009 Overall Impression:
These Bud specialties all sound better then they are. Another crappy attempt a micro-brew, this time it’s a boring White, but everyone of these attempts turns out the same way, boring version of the beer they attempted.
BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Apr 13, 2009 Free sample at whole goods. Pours a hazy slight yellow with hardly any head. Aroma of citrus and wheat. Taste is wheaty with very light citrus notes and coriander. Thin, fizzy and watery mouthfeel. DerBiermeister (503), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Apr 12, 2009 A thoroughly mediocre brew hardly worth investing the time to describe. A waste of money - not a taste of honey. JMerritt (1313), Macomb, Illinois, USA Apr 11, 2009 Hazy brownish yellow with a giant white head that is slowly but mostly diminishing. Citric (orange) aroma, pleasant but one dimensional. Flavor is lightly sweet with husky wheat, light citrus, with some lemon and lime peel. Finish is a touch sour, grainy. Thin, watery palate was actually my first impression upon taking a sip. In the deathmatch between macro witbiers, Shock Top loses to Blue Moon wins, hands-down. jezmez68 (332), Chesterton, Indiana, USA Apr 11, 2009 If you didn’t know this was a Bud product, you would think that it was interesting. The use of lemon, lime AND orange peel is a cool idea. This might give it more of a citrusy flavor than expected, and might seem kind of extreme, but that’s what extreme beer is all about, right? Witbiers never really make me think, "Wow!" even though a couple of witbiers probably got me started down the craft beer road. I don’t think this is a bad example of the style. I think it does something interesting with the style, and lighter beers are something that Budweiser (AB-Inbev) are good at.
