Sample at Kurtkeller 001: Pumpkin-tastic 01 on 11/22/2013. Dark brown pour with a thin beige head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of chocolate, malt and vanilla. Light-bodied with flavors of sweet cocoa, vanilla and malt. The finish is sweet with a pure milk chocolate aftertaste. Decent, although I don’t know what exactly qualifies it as "Belgian" unless it refers to the chocolate.

Dark brown. Obviously chocolate aroma and flavor. Very sweet, almost like a chocolate soda.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear brown pour with a thin white head. Wet wheat and mild chocolate aroma. Maybe some vanilla? Flavor is pretty lackluster. Some dry wheat with mild cocoa and spices. Meh.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is wheat notes with a tingle of chocolate and vanilla note, and a bit of wet horse blanket as well. Appearance is a semi-translucent black with tan head that diminishes into a soapy film really quickly. Taste has vanilla up front then light melding into a fuller chocolate note with a wheat beer. not intermingled. Palate is high carbonation with an aftertaste on vanilla, but diminishes quickly. Overall, Not that good. Cheers!

Chocolate and roasted malt in the aroma. Black. Some very obvious chocolate up front with just a hint of coffee at the back end. Not too obvious in the wheat. Pretty good but sweet.

Well I guess they hit the nail on the head with this... I taste wheat and I taste chocolate. If that is all they want then they scored. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black brew with the aroma of mocha. Taste does have a decent chocolate but can not really pick out any spice or vanilla. Only thing that I can figure is the spice and vanilla just help to create that chocolate flavor. Could actually see having this one after eating chocolates without that odd off flavor that I get from trying to have a brew after chocolates. Due to thin mouthfeel and not much else going for it, not going to be getting this one again.

Light chocolate aroma and vanilla. The taste lacks any really depth almost left with a soapy taste in my mouth.

Shock Top Chocolate Wheat has a medium-to-thick, foamy, and rather quickly-dissipating, beige head, a dark brown appearance, with furious bubble streams, roiling tan chunks, and not much lacing left behind. The aroma is of very chocolaty malt, and the flavor is of sweet, chocolate malt, a touch of vanilla, a shadow of bitterness, and coffee. Mouthfeel is light and watery and somewhat slick. Shock Top Chocolate Wheat finishes semi-dry, rich, and dessert like. Overall, for a flavored beer, this is a sure winner. RJT

12 oz bottle- Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma is just generic malt, some chocolate. The taste is chocolate, maybe wheat, decent tasting surprisingly. Body is not surprisingly too thin. Better than any Shock top should be.

Location: 12 oz bottle from a random store near the Grand Canyon, 3/5/14

Aroma: Nose of sweet chocolate malts, not too much else, but still nice enough
Appearance: It pours a brown color with a small beige head and some light lace
Flavor: The taste is very sweet, almost a chocolate soda-like flavor to it
Palate: The body is creamy, it has a plus carbonation, it is only mildly cloying on the mouth
Overall Impression: Better than I expected from Shock Top. Sweet chocolate flavor and aroma. Kind of a Sam Smith Chocolate Stout Jr., but also kind of not.
