2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Billicus (283) - @Hot peppers!, Paulsboro, New Jersey, USA - NOV 5, 2012
Bottle
aroma, slight, choclate very slight, some spice
color, amber hue fairly desent white head
taste, at first the spice hits you, then the choclate maltness comes through, but this is a weak watery version, also the chili did hit at the end.
overall, its ok for the price.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 degbert (806) - Austin, Texas, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Bottle. Nose is faintly chocolately and spicy. Pours a rather unattractive murky brown, like tea left too long to steep. Definite chili and chocolate on the tongue, with a faint sweetness and a smokiness akin to anchos. Finishes sweet and dark. Tastes a heck of a lot better than it looks.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 drjay44 (2132) - Salida, Colorado, USA - NOV 4, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, off white head, with some lacing, over a hazy amber (SRM 15) body.....nose is light cocoa, wheat cereal....taste is light cocoa, wheat cereal, finishing with very light chili note.....mouth feel light, carbonation low. The ingredients were used with a light hand. The result is a very light beer which does not taste bad but has minimal character and complexity. It is well within the theme of "lawnmower beers". 2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 rdixon77 (233) - Georgia, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Tastes like a pepper porter left out over night. Grainy brown pour. Can taste some chocolate and pepper in the flavor which was surprising, but pretty muddled. Not horrible, I suppose, but the world may have to really be ending before I’d seek out one.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jcartamdg (1144) - Spring Hill, Florida, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Pours a hazy murky brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is chocolatey, roasty and grainy wheat. Flavor is still a bit on the light side. More flavor than I expected but I didn’t expect much.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheBeerGod (4644) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Bottle. Murky brown pour with a short, fizzy tan head. Aroma is soft chocolate notes, wheat, toasted grains and light spice. Taste is soft chocolate, dark bread, toasted wheat and light spice. Body is medium with a moderate, bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more chocolate, toasted wheat, cocoa, soft spice and dark bready notes.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 wlajwl (2914) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Aroma is spice, a hint of chocolate and wheat. The flavor is wheat, mildly tart fruit, malts and low but lingering spicy heat in the finish. Although slightly thin, it was pretty good, don’t know if I’ve ever rated an AB beer/ale this high.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 Patrickctenchi (1700) - columbus, Indiana, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Pours cloudy wood-brown with a small, off-white head.
Scent is light, toasted breadheel....wheat.
Taste is malt, bread, dark caramel.
It’s ok....Better than most shock top offerings.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 bpreo (1173) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - NOV 3, 2012
It has a bizarre Steam Punk label, and a handful of random ingredients (midnight wheat, chocolate malt, and chili spice). All that included, it doesnt have much of a taste at all.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 queenholly (1862) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - NOV 2, 2012
Bottle. Roasty wheat, dusty cocoa... extremely light aroma. Murky dark amber with a moderate beige head, light lacing. Sweet roasty malt, spice, and extremely subtle hop flavor. Medium body, light carbonation. Flavors are light and disharmonious.
