Murky purple pour with ring of offwhite head. Smells of plums and wheat. Flavors of old coriander, cocoa powder, and hints of lavender. A little like carboard tootsie rolls on the tail. Actually, it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. Kinda reminded me of a watery dopplebock.

Bottle. Poured hazy dark orange color with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Moderate spice and chocolate aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium spice sweet flavor with a medium spice finish of moderated duration. Refreshing soft beer.

12oz bottle to a pint glass, thanks to Callipalegic. Code on the neck reads 12279-DH45. Pours a hazy brown / red color. Lots of white flakes floating about in the glass. Good, thin off-white head. Leaves a little loose lace. Medium body. Smooth carbonation of moderate strength. Slight creaminess to the body. Some chocolate in the flavor, and light spiciness, over a wheat-bready malt base. Sweet taste overall, light spice. Interesting, but odd beer overall. I don’t really think the chocolate and spice notes work with the sweet wheat flavor of Shock Top. I appreciate that they’re trying something a little different, but it still tastes like an AB-InBev product.. There is a slight basic watery metallic bite in the finish. I was able to get through it without much trouble, but the lingering aftertaste doesn’t make me sad that it’s gone

...well, dark, roasted notes. No wheat in there really, finishes slightly spicy and smoky. One of the "better" shock tops.

Nice pour - thin even head with deep reddish brown color. Aroma very feint. Solid chocolate flavor, but not spicy (surprising the chilis don’t come out more). Gotta say I prefer the lighter wheat beers, but this one’s OK.

Does smell and taste of chocolate malt and some spices. I dont taste any of the chili and this is highly carbonated pretty decent seasonal beer.

Pours a reddish brown with a finger length head. Had a grainy aroma with a bit of chocolate. Light sweetness, and had a bit of a chocolate aftertaste. This beer is really thin and watery. This is good beer for Budweiser fans.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: Hazy pour, sort of brownish caramel in color with a thick beige head. Aroma is maltier than expected, along with some faint herbal and spicey notes. A little bit of chocolate. I lose interest in the taste; metallic, grain, and malts come together, but rather thin. Finishes a bit dry and floral, but metallic again.
