UPDATED: AUG 29, 2014 Bottle: Muddled, burnt orange body with a long-lasting, thick, eggshell colored collar. Aroma is... strange, perplexing. Clover honey, apple, cinnamon potpourri, faint cheap whiskey, nebulous spice, sweet vanilla, & strange notes of beeswax. What the hell is going on here? Taste starts with some contrived, artificial honey sweetness, quickly followed by another hodge podge of favors... Lavender, wheat. sweetbread, vanilla, cereal grains, apple skins, mild graham cracker, booze, Iím not really sure what is going on here. Starts off with mild sweetness but warmth makes it nearly cloying. Hard to figure this one out. Not the worst thing AB-InBev makes, but that doesnít mean itís good.

Terrifying horrible. Peanut butter colored. Tastes of sweet detergent. I'll need lots of both bourbon and honey to erase the memory of this beer.

Transfer from BA review on 3-17-14- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance Ė The beer pours very hazy golden-amber color with a one finger head of white fizzy foam. The head fades relatively fast leaving a tiny level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell Ė The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a sweet honey smell mixed with some grainy and wheaty aromas. Along with these smells are some lighter aromas of a more woody and oak smell as well as a tiny bit of boozy bourbon smell producing a quite nice sweet aroma overall. Taste Ė The taste begins wheaty and bready flavor with a lighter level of honey and orange sweetness. The wheat creates a base for the brew with the honey getting slightly stronger as the flavor moves to the middle, with it only fading again more toward the end. All the while, a graininess comes to the tongue bringing with it some more off astringent and husky flavors. Along with these more off flavors that come (or maybe contributing to the off flavors themselves) are flavors of a somewhat boozy, stale, and off raw bark flavor. These flavors really grow offensive to the end, with the honey and orange taking on an almost overly fermented flavor and leaving one with a quite unpleasant mix of grain, wood, astringent sweet flavors that creates a very unpleasant taste. Mouthfeel Ė The body of the beer is on the average side with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. The body should have been as light as possible and the carbonation as high as possible to hide all the very offensive flavors of the brew. Overall Ė The smell was the only thing worth anything here. This was actually pretty offensive. Quite disgusting.

Holy shit, this is an abomination to my taste buds. Now, I am totally willing to concede that it might just be MY tastebuds, and maybe there are some redeeming qualities like the very pungent honey and oak notes in both the flavor and aroma, but for ME, they are completely offensive. Couldnít even drink more than a couple of sips. The clearish copper pour with no head at all seemed like drinking strait honey and medicine. Not good.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Cloudy dirty medium amber with a thin rim head, no lace. Lots of sediment (whatís this doing in a Shock Top?). Taste is honey and malt that moves without anything else through the palate to a finish that has nothing to alter or balance. A watery weak brew with a reasonable opening that follows up empty.

Dreading this rate. Bottle. Amber hazy pour with no head. Little carbonation. Aroma of old rubber shoe, honeycomb, coco puffs, malts, and Aunt Jemima syrup that was left out in the summer sun for a month. This tastes wrong on many levels. Like water that was flavored poorly. Tastes more like burnt coco puffs than anything. Might be the worst beer I?ve ever had.

Pours with no head. Looks like flat orange soda but kinda thick. Smells and tastes like honey. It isnít a very good beer, but itís an interesting alcoholic beverage. I could take or leave it in the future, but Iím glad I tried it.

Zero. Not impressed. How is shocktop still in business? Everything tastes of cheap mass bought flavorings. Hands down the biggest potential but worst execution possible in a beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
