Carbonated scent of apples and cinnamon. Huge foam top with a gold appearance. Interesting cider overtones with a strong, biscuit like malt base. Much like what you get from a lager or light ale. Overall, not too bad. Kinda like a cider lager.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a sweet apple aroma. Taste is a bit sweet with a quickly dissipating aftertaste. The honey taste comes through, especially at first taste. Overall a fruit beer that was a bit odd.

The beer pours a cloudy golden color. This is a very well carbonated beer. Nice white head that dissipates quickly. The beer poured about one finger of head. Smells of apple cider or juice. Maybe a hint of cinnamon or other cider spices. The taste is very sweet. Tastes of sparkling apple juice or sparkling cider. Slight other fruity esters, reminiscent of a wheat ale…..which it is. Not bad, not great though.

I’m not a big cider fan, I am however a big wheat fan. I also do not care for shock top regular wheat. Apple flavor is pronounced, but not even close to being overbearing. Good aroma, still retains the crispness of what a beer should be.

Purchased a 6-pack on the way back from playing a few US gigs. As always, hard to imagine A-B owns Shock Top, as these are pretty good summer fruit wheat beers. Pours a cloudy golden colour with high carbonation, creating a white head that stays a while and coats the top of the brew with a 3mm of foam. Smells like freshly squeezed apple juice with hints of spices. The taste is sweet, but not as much as the nose gives out to be. It does have this apple crisp taste with the apples and spices. All nicely balanced with the Belgian yeast, wheat and hops. Almost creamy mouthfeel. I like this one, but could probably not drink too many in a row as it is sweeter then most fruit beers.

Shock Top Honey Apple Crisp has a thin, quickly-dying head, a dark golden, apple juice appearance, with lots of bubbles (etched tasting glass), and not much lacing left behind. The aroma and taste are of apple flavor, sugar, and children’s sugary breakfast cereal. Mouthfeel is heavy and chewy, and Shock Top Apple Crisp finishes sweet and chunky. Overall, this will appeal to those who prefer sweet, flavored beer-based products, and will be hated by those who prefer the traditional taste of beer. RJT

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, slightly hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of apple, slight caramel, toffee, hints of vanilla, lots of sugary notes. Taste is a mix of sweet apple, vanilla, slight caramel, hints of sugar, finishing sweet, sugary. About what I expected.

Bottle at Clockwork’s 4K/5K/10K gathering. Probably courtesy of Blipp. Pours a light body with notes of apple, wheat, artificial sweetener and candy.

Pours a hazy yellow-light orange with a thick foamy head. Overwhelming apple aroma, like a green jolly rancher. Tastes pretty much like a alcoholic green jolly rancher with a rancid aftertaste. Fizzy palate.
