2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
A cloudy medium yellow tinted orange head. There is a bright white head topping this one. The nose has some sweet apple notes and some white cake. There is also a little bit of citrus, but the apples dominate. However, the apple note seems fake, like candy. There is a sweet taste of apples and a little bit of oranges. There is a hint of spicing. The apple taste appears artificial. Amazingly, one of the better cyser style brews I have tried. The carbonation is a bit sharp in the mouth.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This pours a hazy yellow color with a slight, white head. There is a strong scent of granny smith apples with a slight hint of wheat. The initial flavor of this beer is more like a hard cider with a sweet, tangy, apple taste. It isn’t until well after swallowing you begin to get a beer taste from it. It finishes rather chalky and slightly sour. This is really more of a cider than a beer folks.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle available in grocery stores all across America. Why do I feel the need to buy the newest Shock Top beers whenever they show up? Morbid curiosity, maybe? Pours cloudy orange-yellow with a quickly collapsing white head. Aroma is predominantly cider with a bit of wheat in the background, with floral perfumey notes and maybe some Off mosquito repellant--or maybe this beer conjures up summertime memories for whatever reason. Tastes like a cider but has the mouthfeel of a wheat beer. This is pretty odd. I can’t say it tastes bad, because it doesn’t. There is a slight chemical off-note that isn’t too distracting, really. Mouthfeel is creamy like a nice wheat beer. Not bad for a Shock Top, but I still feel a little lame drinking this.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton. Pours a murky medium orange with a very brief off-white head. Aroma is that of Apple Jacks cereal and apple flavored Bubble Yum - pleasant but very artificial. Flavor tastes like an ultra-sweet apple cider, some sour granny smith notes, green apple Now-or-Later flavor candy - no real wheat beer attributes to it. Mouthfeel is thick enough. About what I expected.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle poured into glass. Apple flavored.. You got that right, but there’s no problem, this is no wheat beer, this is a cider through and through, Blind folded you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Just change the name to a cider and they may be on to something.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a large three inch white head that fades. Had a good head before swirling. Taste is of wheat, honey, fresh tart apples and spice. Has a nice apple aroma. Has a mostly full body, better than expected, and a tart finish. Refreshing and surprisingly enjoyable. Would be excellent on a hot summer day.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Well, Shock Top doesn’t entirely suck and I come from cider country, so I’m not ashamed to admit I’m not 100% ashamed to try this. 12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Leesburg, VA. Pours a hazy orange color with a large fizzy head that fades almost immediately. Aroma of tart apples. Some mild wheat and a faint bit of graininess but pretty one note. The taste is even less complex than the aroma, just tart apples and nothing else. Meh.
