2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 ThisWangsChung (448) - Leonardtown, Maryland, USA - APR 7, 2013
12 oz bottle says 5.2%. Poured into a Samuel Smith pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy golden color. The head is a quick-fading two finger white shade. Not the most aesthetically pleasing brew.
S: Is this beer, or is it cider? There are strong apple tones throughout, along with a bit of tartness and some diacetyl. Jolly Ranchers come instantly to mind here. The minor beer qualities here aren’t too hot.
T: This may well be cider, with its big sweetness and apple flavors, but there’s also some finishing diacetyl that I could do without. The malty finish tries to balance some of the cider sweetness...only it turns it into beery sweetness that’s a bit more unpleasant. None of the advertised spices come through well.
M: Thick and sweet, as expected. Lots of carbonation, too. The problem here is that it’s so damn sweet that it kills drinkability - and it can’t get away with it the way a pure commercial cider like Angry Orchard can.
O: I totally get this point of this product, combining a sweet apple cider with a generic witbier - the problem is it tries to be everything to everyone, and as a result, doesn’t do either the cider or the beer aspect well enough to appeal to discerning craft beer/cider drinkers (plus the whole "it’s made by AB-InBev" thing). Not bad for a malternative, though.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Finhead (914) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - APR 3, 2013
Hazy, yellow-gold pour with a white head. The aroma is very fruity with the smell of freshly sliced apples dominating. It has a light body with a slightly sticky texture and lively carbonation. The taste is sweet and crisp, but with an obvious cider quality. This is an interesting brew and worth a try.

Holy shit... really wasn’t prepared for that flavor... Pours a dull straw with fair offwhite head. Aroma is actually quite pleasant - perfumy sour apple. But the flavor just pushes the limit on what I can tolerate in a beer. This tastes EXACTLY like a green jolly rancher has been melted down and distilled. Sour and puckering but in a fake medicinal way. Maybe, under the perfect circumstances, I might be willing to drink more than a few sips.

Bottled. Poured cloudy, straw golden with a well-retained white head. The aroma picked up lots of mostly sweet apples and not a whole lot else.. some earthy notes and wheat as well.. no real complaints. The flavor found tangy and sweet apples throughout, with a pale malt and wheaty base.. some watery apple juice on the middle.. finished with a little apple tang and prickly carbonation. Light-bodied with filling carbonation on the palate.. this lost its way on the middle, but was otherwise serviceable.

Pours hazy golden into the glass, with a fizzy head that leaves no real retention and mild spotty lacing. The nose is of apple cider. Flavors are of cider, some very reserved wheat traces, a little spice toward the apple pie finish. The mouthfeel is seltzery and the body medium-thin with overactive carbonation. It’s certainly the macro take on a hard style to get right in the first place, but it serves its purpose and provides a novelty that even I might enjoy from time to time. Too much might be a tad cloying; thankfully, a little goes a long way.

Bottle. Poured hazy amber hue with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sweet apple spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth sweet spice flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Eh, this was ok but I got the feeling that this was a lot more artificial flavoring than anything else. Smells like apple flavored candy. Pours a hazy amber. Flavor is pretty much fake apple flavoring with some carbonation. One dementional and overly simple. Could’ve been so much better.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Smells like candy, apple Jolly Rancher. The flavor wheat/doughy, apple, hints of spicing. I am surprises by the balance of the apple, spices, and wheat. Not going to search out another one, but it was not terrible.

Smells like a fresh apple, tastes almost like one. Very fall like with an apple cider character to do with an otherwise light wheat beer base. Very cloudy yellow color, modest head.
2.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 damzz (179) - Massachusetts, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Pours a cloudy bronze with a thick white head that leaves much streak lacing. Nose is overwhelmingly apple. Palate is crisp with no malt detected.
