It’s cheaper for brewers to make apple flavored beer than real hard cider. I get that. What I don’t get is why anyone would drink apple flavored beer rather than real cider. Real cider is better and worth the extra money. This is rather dry. And the wheat characteristics shows through the fake apple flavor. Not horrible but not good either. Bottle.

Pours gold with no head. Aroma of artificial apple cider, sweet and fake. Taste is apples, then a fake cider sweetness, then an awful stale malt aftertaste. This is pretty bad

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Pours hazy pale yellow with medium off-white head. Medium carbonation, no lacing, and nice tart apple aroma. Taste is apple and soft wheat. If the taste matched the aroma this be would be good.

Taste good but it leaves the pallet quickly. All in all not a bad beer though. I have had other apple or cider beers and this is very crisp tasting. I just wish the taste stayed.

From 12oz bottle to tulip. Pour is a milky yellow, thin active head that quickly disappeared. Nose is heavy green apple, other citrus, smells like a green jolly rancher. Taste is very light, sweet. Highly carbonated, finishes smooth but with that carbonation bite. For a mainstream InBev company, not terrible. However not a beer I’m going to seek out anytime soon.

HQT night. Bottle. Tasted like a sour apple martini... our a caramel apple candy. Not terrible... but more of a cider than a beer. I call it a girl n beer... wife lived it. My bottle had yeast sediment.

Aroma is fantastic. Less sweet than most Apple beers / cider which is a plus. If you like fruity beer you will enjoy this!

The smell of this beer is packed with apples, it tastes a lot more like a woodchuck hard cider than it does beer. Not very good, I didn’t have high hopes for this one.

Bottle: pale straw with some lighter gold highlights; unfiltered haze, nearly opaque in the center. Fizzling, wispy white head is gone in seconds. Aroma is tart green apples, sweet apples, apple candy, sugar... you get the point. Smells more like hard cider, really. Candied apple explosion, and not much else. Taste isn’t packed like the aroma... actually kind of thin and watered down. Little bit of wheat, crisp green apple skins, mild tartness but far from sour. Sweet and dry in the finish, but not overtly sweet, which is good. Aftertaste of light wheat and apple. Almost like Apple Jack’s cereal residue. Actually not awful, possibly my favorite Shock Top to date (not saying much, though).

Pours hazy yellow with quick disappearing head. Smell of apple cider. Taste is of fake apple flavor not very pleasant. Defiantly smells better than it tastes.
