2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a hazy pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma has sweet lemon. Flavor is like a skunky busch with a touch of lemon. Light mouthfeel and a mild lemony abrupt finito.

This smells and tastes like Shock Top mixed w/ Crystal Light, which I suppose is what it is. I would put this in the same vein as many other alcoholic flavored soda pops but it is not even as good as soda pop really. Itís cloudy yellow and mostly headless. Nose is lemon w/ a hint of fruity Belgian yeast and some coriander. It tastes quite lemony but itís not quite tart enough to hold up w/ it, which is a bit strange. The carbonation is extra prickly and the finish is quick w/ a lingering note of lemon candy. This is really not all that great even for a shandy.

Draft at Amber Rose. Shandy...lemon...really? The lemon and citrus notes were really muted to me. Not bad at all, just a little different than I expected.

1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Tasted at the 2012 Westport Brewfest. It poured a pale yellow color with a small white head. The aroma was of malts, hops, wheat and lemon. The taste was similar.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Looks as expected, if with a rather weak head. Simple lemony flavor with only faint bready malts.
Light body with medium carbonation.
Adequately refreshing and good sweet/bitter balance but lacking in flavor beyond lemon juice.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2014 Tap: At a Toby Keith concert. I hate county. What is my life right now? Dingy, golden-yellow, murky and hazy with a thin, wispy white head that reduces to a ring in record time. Aroma is light lemon zest, slightly tart lemon juice, faint grainy and wheaty underbody... Thatís about it. Artificially sweet lemons. Taste is disappointing, too. Lots of grains and malts up front with sweet lemon throughout. Overdone, artificial, and just not that good. Lightly tart in the middle, but it fades to a big sweetness in the finish. Aftertaste of grains and lemon. Iíd pick Leinieís Summer Shandy over this one any day.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, short lived, fizzy head, with no lacing over a hazy, yellow (SRM 3) fizzy body.....nose is lemonade, hints of wheat malts, no hops, esters, beer character.....taste is moderately sweet lemonade, minimal hops, no esters.....mouth feel, light body, light acid, high carbonation makes for many belches, finally it has a long lingering sweetness. This is really not particularly good as the underlying beer is well disguised. BJCP 5/2/9/4/5

1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Can from the LCBO. For my review of this beverage, I would first like to dissect its ingredients list. First, I have to ask: Why does there need to be an ingredients list? Is this were a proper all-natural shandy, the ingredients would be simple: beer and lemonade. But instead, there are 8 ingredients listed, several of which I canít pronounce and/or donít know what they are. The first two are "Beer" and "Ale" - wait, arenít they the same thing? Whatís going on here that they need to be listed seperately? Next up is "Sugar" - I know what that is, but have to wonder how much if it was used in order for it to be listed so high up on the list. "Citric Acid" - I guess that will maybe balance the sugar? "Natural Lemonade Flavour" - is this even a thing? Why not just lemon juice? "Acacia Gum" - last I checked this was a thickening agent. So why is it in a liquid? "Modified Coconut Oil (Medium Chain Triglycerides)" - shitís starting to get a bit weird now. "Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate" - right, that doesnít sound like something I want to be putting into my body. Oh, I need to drink it now? Well, it doesnít actually look that bad - nice hazy light gold body, small and tight white head. But the aroma - my god, itís like someone doused rubber tires with lemon dishwashing liquid and nail polish remover and then lit them on fire. Just horrendous. The flavour is mercifully a bit better, but the "natural" lemon flavour still has a strong artificial/chemical character to it. Barely a quarter of the way into the glass and it starts to remind me of Neo Citran. And then itís down the drain with the rest of this truly awful "beer"...

Pours a hazy golden yellow on tap with thin white head and light lacing. Aroma and taste is lemon over the top. Wow, real weird, lemonade type flavor.
