Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat is a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale brewed with ripe pumpkins and a variety of autumnal spices, including nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves, for a refreshingly smooth beer that fully captures all the flavors of fall.

Given to me as a sample bottle, I forgot about this one for a few days before taking it home and cracking it. Pours out a darker shade of amber than I expected, with a lively off-white foam head. The aromas are, well, barely noticeable. There’s a touch of pumpkin, but not like sweet pumpkin. It smells like someone took a beer dunked their slice of pumpkin pie into it for a moment. The taste is, well, I’m not sure how to put this. I’ve never had a beer to review like this. I’m going to try to take a few more sips just for the sake of an evaluation. It really tastes as if someone dunked a slice of pumpkin pie into a glass of shock top beer. It really doesn’t taste much like pumpkin at all. I get just the tiniest little touch of spices, but barely noticeable. I hate to admit it, but I’m going to pour most of this down the drain, I’m just not into it whatsoever. And I used to be a Shock Top fan, but this is, well, totally not what I was hoping for. Sorry guys, I’m going to pass on this one. Better luck next time

Nice amber color with a small head that dissipated quickly. Very clear. Aroma is sweet pumpkin & spices. Taste is very clean as well with an easy pumpkin pie flavor - subtle. An easy to drink beer with good flavor.

Aroma of soiled diaper. Tastes like someone filtered moldy pumpkin pie through my grandpa’s tighty whiteys.

Bottle. Nice looking beer at the start. Smells of cinnamon, clove and spice. Taste is similar but very sweet... almost too sweet for my liking. Shock Top tries for a Bud product but they’re still not great.

12oz bottle. Just horrible. Buddy of mine brought some over. Thin nose, thin palate, really metallic. No spices whatsoever, just bad.

far better than the Blue Moon alternative, however i am finding the whole pumpkin ale poorly thought out and executed as a whole at this point. gimmicky

Burnt orange pour, big creamy head. Aroma has pumpkin, grain, spices. Flavor is wheat, spice, caramel. Ok.

(12oz bottle from Total Wine Scottsdale). Pours a hazy orange-amber color with off-white head. Aroma has pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon and wheat. Taste is sweet with both pumpkin and spices. Light bodied with an oily texture. Smooth finish. This is a decent pumpkin beer. It’s not offensive or over-the-top and pretty much hits all the flavor components you’d want in a beer of this kind.

12oz bottle. An addition to the family that fits in, I guess. Taste is artifical pumpking, a bit sweet but roasted with oak I believe. Not too sweet though, so it keeps you coming back. Color is deadpan orange with amber undertones. head is minimal, but lasts throughout. I bit too sweet for maximum enjoyment, but the price is right. Yeah, come on, pumpking wheat, what ever gets you throught the day.
