Pumpkin taste is noticable in the beginning of the first sip, then the cloves, nutmeg, and allspice take over the beer. The carbonation is a bit harsh, and has a strange aftertaste. Overall, I would rate this at the bottom of the pack of the pumpkin beers I have tried this year. The aftertaste is strange, and even turns my stomach a little. The original flavors arenít bad, but there is something about this one that just does not agree. I donít hate it, but I wonít be purchasing this one again.

Draft at Summer Bay resort in Orlando. Pours a cloudy, murky brownish orange color with a beige head. Lots of pumpkin spices in the aroma. Nice flavor without being overpowering from the pumpkin standpoint. Just a touch of Belgian yeast in the finish.

Some reps were giving free bottles of shock top products away at my local liquor store, so I grabbed this and my wife grabbed the regular - I figured, "even if they suck, free beer is free beer" - hazy dark copper pour - pillowy but short-lived head - nose is heavy on the clove and nutmeg, but also some notes of overripe banana, apple, tangy wheat, moderate earthy pumpkin - medium body, full carbonation - fairly sweet - cinnamon and nutmeg are fairly strong, as is the pumpkin - light acidity late - a touch of vanilla - not particularly Belgian, but aside from being a bit too sweet, it isnít too bad of a pumpkin ale.

Better than expected. Just enough pumpkin taste and spice to not be over powering. Dark amber color when poured, small head. Definitely taste spice, pumpkin, nutmeg and a little hint of citrus. Happy there wasnít an over powering amount of cinnamon. Highly recommend over some other pumpkin beers.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2011 Purchased on my trip to Vegas at the Total Wine store. First of two pumpkin ales tonight (the other being the Wasatch). Pours a hazy amber-golden colour with a fizzy off-white that disappears quickly and leaves a bit of lacing. Mild aromas of pumpkin and spices (nutmeg, cinnamon). Thin mouthfeel with just a little stickiness. Again, the taste is mild with the Halloween vegetable and spices (not much cinnamon in the flavours though). Not a bad pumpkin ale coming from AB.

Pours dark gold with white head. Aroma is pumpkin, nutmeg, and allspice. Taste is sweet pumpkin with pumpkin pie spices, but not much cinnamon. Kind of has a pumpkin-like finish and mouthfeel. Not the best pumpkin beer but not terrible.

Cloudy orange with some sediment and foamy white head. Flavor is fresh, spicy and vegetal. Taste is about what I expected...spicy pumpkin, dry wheat and some caramelly malt. Pretty thin, lots of carbonation. Drinkable and a decent autumn brew.

Freebie! Thanks to The Village Wine Shop in Lakeland, FL. Nose is slight nutmeg/allspice with a hint of cinnamon. Poured out a nice clear orange with a decent sized, white head that stayed around for a while. Nice and drinkable with a decent raw veggie, pumpkin pie spice flavor. Better than expected.

Bottle at GAF. Pours a hazy gold with a persistent head. The nose is okay, subdued spicing of nutmeg & perhaps clove? Some earthy notes come through as well. On tasting, pretty inoffensive. Doesnít kill you with nutmeg, which is a good thing. Light spicing works okay. Not too bad, could be far worse...

A scary iguana-looking orange slice on the label - truly a bad trip. Auburn, woody beer with a very thin head. Iím not sure whether I hate pumpkin beers, or whether I just hate the cloying "Cinnamon/Clove/Allspice Rules The World" thing that they feel obligated to do in conjunction with pumpkin. Pumpkin works with basil. Pumpkin works with cocoa. Pumpkin works with your usual graham cracker flavors, which is stock beer flavoring. No need for the pie spices. That said, there was a certain mustard undertone to the aroma that was interesting. Not sweet, kinda bland. Thin mouthfeel, with a mustardy/raw vegetable aftertaste. A bit tangy on the lips. Tick (snicker, drowland.) Part of a mixpack. ABC Likkas, Appalachee Parkway.
