Six pack bottle, smell of wheat and a hint of spice, appearance is cloudy orange, taste is confusing with a mixture of lemon and spice, very mediocre beer that doesn’t know if it is a straight wheat beer or pumpkin ale. Beer is ok but there are better options

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Hazy medium amber, no lace, no head. Looks like iced tea. Taste is pumpkin and malt that moves right through the palate to a no-change finish. Pretty plain, and pumpkin in an unappealing way.

First pumpkin beer of the year, and once again I am not intrigued. It is basically a sweet pilsner filtered through pumpkins and graham crackers.

Bottle. Pumpkin malt and cinnamon/nutmeg aroma. Golden yellow with large head. Lightly sweet nutmeg, cinnamon and milky pumpkin malt flavor. Okay body. Not bad for a Shock Top.

It's nice but nothing special. The pumpkin was nowhere to be found. It's as if they decided they ended a rocket effort at a fall beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy deep copper with zero head. So much so that I wondered if it was flat, but there is some carbonation there. Tastes pretty much like a macro lager with a hint of cinnamon, ginger and allspice. No interesting malt or hop profile whatsoever. Disappointing.

Unlike most Shock Top beers, this is not especially bad. It is just as bad as a normal pumpkin pie spice beer. It is cloudy orange brown and headless. It is very much spice forward w/ basically no malt or hop character but it is at least devoid of off flavors and harshness. The only real beer flavor I’m getting here is perhaps a bit of fruitiness from the yeast. It is full bodied and a bit sweet and heavy but vigorous carbonation saves it from really being too cloying. I can’t see myself buying this again but for pumpkin beer fans this will scratch the itch just as well as most craft beer offerings and for cheaper.

12oz bottle. Poured an amber color with an averaged sized head. Pumpkins and spices. Nothing making this one stand out.

Transfer from BA review on 9-1-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a vary hazy orange color amber color with a big billowy orange tinted head. The head fades pretty fast to leave a light foam and a very light level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is heavy of wheat with nice notes of pumpkin and some orange citrus. These are mixed with a cinnamon and nutmeg aroma that give it overall a very pleasant aroma. Taste – The taste begins of wheat and pumpkin with some lighter sweetness. Soon spice flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg come into the taste. These meld well with the pumpkin flavors well and with an increase in a brown sugar taste make it more pumpkin pie like. This sweeter flavor persists to the end where a citrus flavor mixes with the others to leave a pleasing taste on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer average with a medium level of carbonation, giving the beer good drinkability. Overall – A tasty pumpkin beer with a easy drinking sweetness and spiced pumpkin flavor. While not the top pumpkin brew out there it is one of the best for its price and one to go to on occasion.

(bottle - 12 oz) Orange pour with a thin head. Sour wheat and raw pumpkin aroma. Flavor doesn’t have the pumpkin pie spice that I like. It was either so subtle or just completely overpowered by the wheat. Not a good combination.

Reviewed from notes. This was always poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a slightly ruddy orange/brown color with a decent looking foamy white head. The lacing was fairly thick and coated the glass nicely. The smell was mainly some Autumn like spices such as ginger, allspice and cinnamon. The pumpkin itself is pretty subdued. The taste was spicy and sweet through the previously mentioned flavors. On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionable quality to it. The carbonation seems okay for the pumpkin ale style and to me. Overall, decent pumpkin ale. There’s nothing bad nor is there anything spectacular about it.
