2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pour is an amber honey color with a little fizziness and quickly dissolving head. Taste is a clean, bland, pumpkin. Best saved for a fall evening with a chill in the air to maximize its low potential.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bleh. Ok rustic pour w/ no head or lacing. Both aroma & taste are extremely bland as If a wheat beer was completely stripped of it’s spices. It’s clean if that’s worth anything? Not good!!

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
355ml bottle bought at Q Club in SoHo, Central.
Clear amber with a small ring of dirt like yeast sediments; Half finger hand and off-white foam which last for 1 minute; Fair sticky lacing and very slight carbonation; Fragrant aroma of Amber malt, with strong nutmeg, mashed pumpkin, strong cinnamon, light banana bread, caramel, sugar and light lemon; Medium sweet taste of light Amber malt, with cooked pumpkins, caramel, light toffee, cinnamon, strong molasses, cloves, light bread, yeast, light lemon, very light bitter hops and light grass;
Mid to light body. Slick palate; Mouth Feel is light Amber maltyness in a fairly thinned body. Caramel and mashed pumpkins hit first, followed by light cinnamon, light and cloves. Fairly strong sweetness, light bready with light lemon to round. Okay…Hoppiness is light lemon in nose. Lemon and light grass in taste. Bitterness is light for an abrupt, very low astringent sweet pumpkin finish; Fairly dry after taste. Sweet and easy to mouth.
Comments: Had a good one in BrewDog’s Pumpkin Head earlier, and this one is an anti-climax: Fairly good pumpkin spicy aroma aside, its taste is a couple pars below the former, without enough spices and hops, the sweetness creeps in and somehow dampens its enjoyment. Drinkable but nothing special.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a moderately hazy copper color with a small white head. It actually smells pretty good; consisting of light pumpkin, spices and wheat. Tastes are similar but very bland. Watery body with a slightly sweet finish. Overall it is what one would expect from Shock Top; an okay beer that is light and inoffensive.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 9/28/2015. Pours hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, coriander, orange peel, pear, apple, pepper, wheat, biscuit, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, pumpkin/spices, and bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, coriander, orange peel, pear, apple, pepper, wheat, biscuit, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, wheat,biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good robustness and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, pumpkin/spices, and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/yeast/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5.1%. Overall this is a good pumpkin witbier style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, pumpkin/spices, and bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Draught pint at the Stagecoach Bar on 23-Oct12015. Served with cinnamon sugar around the rim. Hazy, orange amber colour with a small head. Aroma of spiced pumpkin and cinnamon. Friity oumkin flavour. OK, but a little bland. Didnt see the attraction myself.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat has a thick, frothy, off-white head, a mostly clear, bubbly, gold-orange appearance, which gets a descending, gray cloud, once the caked sediment is swished loose and poured in. No lacing left behind. The aroma is of spiced pumpkin bread and spiced candle. Taste is of pumpkin pulp, subdued spices, white wheat bread, and just a touch of bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, and Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat finishes on the dry side. RJT
