2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
2/27/12. 12oz bottle. Slightly hazed orange pour with a small khaki head that fades and laces a bit. I really wanted to like this, I really did, but alas, it’s awful, and nowhere close to an IPA. Muted aroma of citrus and spice, moreso from the base than the hops, I’d say. Sweet and slightly tangy wheat malt flavor with a touch of citrus and creaminess. Not an IPA and barely a wheat beer... this is miserable. Why oh why did I give it a chance?

bottle, golden yellow pour with some wispy foam, aroma and flavor holds neither wheat nor hops, pretty straightforward lager

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pretty pour. Orange amber body with a tall, foamy, dense white head. Aroma is grainy with big yeast notes, citrus fruit and malt. Taste is also big wheat and yeast notes with citrus notes and sweet malt. Body is light-medium with a moderate carbonation. Finishes with a touch bigger citrus flavor, more yeast, grains, toasted malt, floral hops and candied fruit.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Doughy, orangey, slightly floral aroma. OK, the labels and iconography for Shock Top are starting to border on the psychedelic - anthropomorphized orange slice with an aqua wheat mohawk -- sounds like a bad day outside the Dead concert. Hazy, maple gold with a diffuse white head. Very, very slightly astringent. Lightly starchy, slightly sweet, spices and light American hops. Comes off more of a pale ale than an IPA. Light body, medium bitter finish. Publix, up by I-10.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
(bottle) served as blind taste. Hazy light amber with small white head. Aroma of pale malt and some light citrus. Flavor is light wheat, a little citrus, not really a whole lot of hops. But it was decent.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
The aroma is a touch dirty but mostly adjuncts and noticeable hops. Now for most beers it would be in the acceptable range for a wheat beer but for this company noticeable hops mean IPA. The appearance is amber with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is watery. Overall not a worthy beer to drink.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle from Kroger. Hazy yellow orange pour with a small white head. Aroma is just kinda grainy and there. Taste is bitter, wheaty, and vaguely vegetative.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with beige head. The aroma is citrus with a metallic hint. The flavor is obvious coriander with a dusty bitterness and a general grainy quality. Only in the aftertaste can I really detect Cascade hops specifically. Drinkable, but a pretty messy brew.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
12oz bottle poured bright amber/orange with big off white frothy head. Not much of an aroma. Flavor is mildly bitter and flowery from the ops. Not much else happening with this beer. You get that wheat flavor but doesn’t really work. Still drinkable.
