Fukito (595), Buenos Aires, Argentina Apr 25, 2008 Bottle, april 08, thanks Gazza!
Slghtly hazy, rich mahoganny brown/ orange color wih some bubbling but a very small white rim. Strong toffe aroma with some wood. Shouts booze and some nail polish. Not good. Strange, slightly spicy flavor with an acidic touch, some wook and whisky, a bit of smoke but a great, and I mean great, alocoholic burnt. Very hard. Medium to light palate, the very alcoholic feeling makes it very difficult to drink. Strange, but rather unpleasant strong ale.
SHIG (1546), Oberoffligen, Germany Dec 3, 2007 Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting : Clear with no head. The aroma is very alcohol. The taste is like fuel in a bottle. I rather drink my wifes nail polish remover! Magic_dave6 (4000), London, Greater London, England Dec 3, 2007 Bottle at glasgow ultimate tasting. Clear bottle that apparently would have been from another beer served in the pub, not too reasuring. Aroma is harsh harsh alcohol esters, appley sweetness, rough grainy malts. Taste is pure ethanol burn, sore harsh and undrinkable. cgarvieuk (2525), Edinburgh, Scotland Dec 2, 2007 Bottles at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting ... YEUCH, thats about it. we had 14% and 15.5% bottles Very rought no balance. I could maybe have finnished the 14% but the 15.5 was like raw alcohol. Pub (4103), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Nov 24, 2003 Bottle Conditioned. A brown Amber beer with bubbly head. I'm not normally given to supelatives, nor do I often get close to giving perfect marks, but this beer is very special. Its from a brewpub I had never heard of before, and so it seems has the site. The beer is perfectly brewed, it has a vintage port wine flavour, the spare sugar is all brewed out to leave a dry rich vinous flavour with strawberries and plum as a background. There is even a hop aftertaste. The body is a perfect harmony of stillness but still natural condition. I'm not sure how this can be obtained again as it was a gift, I presume it is only available at the Brewpub, but it is a very, very good beer.
